Safety Instructions
Risk of life by electric shock! The LED outdoor floodlight is considered installation material and should only be installed, maintained, and repaired by qualified electricians. Improper installation endangers your own life and the lives of users of the electrical system. Improper installation risks severe property damage, e.g., by fire, and may lead to personal liability for damages.
For installation, the following expertise is particularly necessary:
- Adherence to the "5 safety rules": De-energize, secure against restarting, determine de-energization, grounding, and short-circuiting; cover or isolate adjacent energized parts.
- Selection of suitable tools, measuring instruments, and personal protective equipment.
- Evaluation of measurement results.
- Selection of electrical installation material to ensure proper switching-off conditions.
- Understanding of IP protection classes.
- Correct installation of electrical installation material.
- Knowledge of the supply network type (TN, IT, TT systems) and resulting connection conditions.
General Safety Precautions:
- Never open the housing.
- Do not modify the product or accessories.
- Use the product, its parts, and accessories only in perfect condition.
- The light sources are not replaceable!
- Contact your dealer or manufacturer for questions, defects, mechanical damage, or other issues not covered by the documentation.
- Not suitable for children. The product is not a toy!
- Secure packaging, small parts, and insulation against accidental use.
- Avoid extreme conditions such as heat and cold, moisture, direct sunlight, microwaves, vibrations, and mechanical pressure.
- Follow local installation and building regulations.
- Choose mounting hardware appropriate for the substrate and product weight.
- Never look directly into the light source.
- Do not aim the light beam into the eyes of people or animals, or at reflective surfaces, as this can cause eye damage.
- Dispose of broken glass with appropriate protective measures.
- Hot surfaces: Do not touch during or immediately after use.
- Avoid proximity to flammable surfaces and materials.
- Heat storage: Do not cover the product. Do not use in sealed environments.
Preparation
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness and integrity.
- Compare the technical data of the product with your power supply; they must match or be within the specified range.
Connection and Operation
Mounting the LED Outdoor Floodlight (Fig. 3-5)
CAUTION: Danger of falling/crushing. Place and use aids safely. Do not hold limbs between shear parts.
- Select the mounting location based on the following criteria:
- The surface must be stable.
- No flammable objects should be nearby.
- Maintain a distance of 1 m from the illuminated object.
- Ventilation openings must not be obstructed.
- Plants, street lights, reflective surfaces, or randomly moving objects must not be within the detection range.
- The product must be mounted absolutely straight.
- Select suitable mounting material according to the chosen surface and product weight. Mounting material is not included.
- Mark the hole spacing (X) and cable entry (Y) using the mounting bracket and a suitable pin (See Fig. 1).
- Drill the mounting holes with a suitable tool.
- Fix the LED outdoor floodlight. See Fig. 4.
Connecting the Outdoor LED Floodlight (Fig. 3)
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Have the M16 cable gland connected ONLY by an experienced electrician. Observe all safety instructions from Chapter 1.
- Before working on the product, disconnect the power supply, switch off the fuse, and secure it against re-switching.
- Ensure the power is off before starting work.
- Models without a fitted earthing contact plug must be permanently installed. Power cables must have a minimum cross-section of 1.0 mm². Stranded wires require wire end ferrules.
- Pre-treatment of conductor ends: exposed ends should not exceed 6 mm.
- Fixing method: Secured in the M16 cable gland.
- Switch off the fuse and check for absence of voltage.
- Open the M16 cable gland by turning counter-clockwise until the terminal block is exposed (Fig. 5).
- Isolate the cables.
- Slide the M16 cable gland parts (Fig. 6) over the connection cable.
- Insert cable ends into the connector, ensuring correct polarity: N (blue wire) to N, L (brown wire) to L, and GND (green-yellow wire) to GND. Secure cables with a screwdriver (Fig. 6).
- Insert the M16 cable gland connector into the floodlight's connection, aligning the groove and pin for correct positioning.
- Close the M16 cable gland by turning clockwise until all parts are firmly connected (Fig. 7 & 8).
Note: The light sources are not interchangeable!
Settings (Fig. 6)
The floodlight should be mounted at a height of 2.3 - 3 m for optimal performance. The motion detector has a 180° detection angle and a passive infrared (PIR) sensor with the following adjustable settings:
- SENS: Adjusts the detection range from min. 1 m (-) to max. 10 m (+).
- TIME: Sets the switch-off delay after motion detection, from min. 5 seconds (-) to max. 10 minutes (+).
- LUX: Sets the ambient light threshold (photocell sensitivity) from 5 - 2000 lx. The light activates only when the ambient brightness falls below this level (detects daylight and darkness, but primarily activates in darkness).
Function Test
- Turn the "SENS" control to the maximum setting "+".
- Turn the "TIME" control to the minimum setting "-".
- Turn the "LUX" control to the daylight setting " ".
This test is crucial for daylight operation. After power-on, the sensor requires a warm-up phase of approximately 30 seconds after detecting motion. A switch on the underside of the motion detector allows manual ON/OFF control; "ON" activates the sensor, while "OFF" keeps the floodlight permanently lit.
Maintenance, Care, Storage and Transportation
The product is maintenance-free.
NOTICE! Material damage
- Regularly check the tightness of the product and screws. Do not over-tighten screws, as threads can be damaged.
- Use only a dry and soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use detergents or chemicals.
- When not in use for extended periods, store the product out of reach of children in a dry, dust-protected, cool, and dry environment.
- Keep and use the original packaging for transport.
