Zebra Android 14 Release Notes

Highlights

This Android 14 GMS release 14-09-18.00-UG-U115-STD-GRT-04 covers TC15 series product. Please see device compatibility under Addendum Section for more details.

This release requires a mandatory step OS Update method to upgrade to A14 BSP software from A13 and A11. Please refer for more details under "OS Update Installation Requirements and Instructions" section.

• [CPG] Custom Feature CSP
  • Implemented support for enabling and disabling custom features using GUIDs through StageNow configuration profiles.
  • Added functionality to process extra parameters when enabling features. Allows more granular configuration options, enabling additional settings to be applied during feature activation.

• SPR-54688: Add a fix to resolve locked orientation setting doesn't work properly.

  • Added support to display ZVC UI in French (Canada).

Resolved Issues

• SPR-55622: Add a fix to resolve tx path VoIP in handsfree for all the bands and PTTPRO in handset and handsfree mode for all the bands.
• SPR-55368: Fixed issue where the DPR setting is different when changing the display size manually versus when changing over Stagenow.

This LG patch is applicable for 14-09-18.00-UG-U25-STD-GRT-04 version.

  • Enable Network Selection for EHS Users. Device operator is able to view and select available network for connectivity while the device is locked down (EHS).
  • Skip SUW barcode Google restriction-A14:
    • Due to new mandatory privacy requirements from Google, the Setup Wizard Bypass feature has been discontinued on devices running Android 13 and later.
    • Consequently, it is now restricted to skip the Setup Wizard screen, and the StageNow barcode will not function during the Setup Wizard, displaying a toast message stating "Not supported.”
    • If the Setup Wizard has already been completed and its data was configured to persist on the device in the past, there is no need to repeat this process following an Enterprise Reset.

• SPR-53586: Resolved an issue where in battery draining was observed on few devices with external keyboard.

OS Update Installation Requirements and Instructions

• To update from A13 to A14 release, user must follow the steps below.
  • Step-1: Device MUST have A13 September 2024 LG BSP Image or a greater A13 BSP version installed which is available on zebra.com portal.
  • Step-2: Upgrade to this release A14 BSP.
• To update from A11 to A14 release, user must follow the steps below.
  • Step-1: Device MUST have A11 October 2024 LG BSP Image or a greater A11 BSP version installed which is available on zebra.com portal.
  • Step-2: Upgrade to this release A14 BSP.
