Important Preliminary Notes

CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - DO NOT OPEN

The lightning symbol with an arrow inside an equilateral triangle is intended to warn the user about uninsulated "dangerous voltage" inside the product enclosure, which is high enough to pose an electric shock hazard to humans.

The exclamation mark inside an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (service) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

WARNING: Due to fire and electric shock hazard, never expose the device to rain or moisture.

WARNING: A Class I device must be connected to a grounded socket.

Important Safety Instructions

  1. Read this manual thoroughly.
  2. Keep this manual in a safe place.
  3. Observe all warning notices.
  4. Follow all instructions.
  5. Do not use the device near water.
  6. Clean it only with a dry cloth.
  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. The device should be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications.
  8. Do not place the device near heat sources such as radiators, ovens, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that generate heat.
  9. Do not override the safety mechanism of the polarized or grounded plug. A polarized plug has two pins, one of which is wider than the other. A grounded plug has two pins and a third grounding pin. The wider or third pin is for your safety. If the supplied plug does not fit your socket, contact an electrician to replace the obsolete socket.
  10. Ensure that no one steps on the power cord and that it is not pinched, especially at the plugs, sockets, and where it exits the device.
  11. Use only accessories/add-on parts specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Unplug the device during a thunderstorm or when it will not be used for a long time.
  13. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as if the power cord or plug is damaged, if liquids have been spilled on the device or objects have fallen into it, if it has been exposed to rain or moisture, if it does not function normally, or if it has been dropped.
  14. Disconnect from the mains: By switching off the POWER switch (13), all functions are stopped and the amplifier indicators go out. However, the device is only completely disconnected from the mains by pulling the power plug (11). Therefore, the power plug and socket must be easily accessible.
  15. The device is connected to a grounded socket via a power cord.
  16. The marking information is located on the bottom of the device.
  17. The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the device.

WARNING: Under no circumstances should this product be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Take it to the nearest recycling center for electrical and electronic equipment.

NEEC AUDIO BARCELONA, S.L. assumes no liability for damages that may arise to persons, animals, or objects due to non-compliance with the above warnings.

Important Notice

Congratulations! You have acquired the result of a well-thought-out design and careful manufacturing. Thank you for the trust you have placed in us by choosing our ePHS30Ti music horn loudspeaker.

To achieve optimal operational capability and performance, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you carefully read and consider the instructions contained in this manual before connecting the device. For optimal functioning, we recommend that maintenance be carried out exclusively by our authorized technical service partners.

Introduction

The ePHS30Ti is a 30W music horn loudspeaker, carefully selected for the most common 70/100V applications: public address and background music. It offers long durability and optimal speech and music reproduction. Manufactured in reinforced ABS and certified according to IP66 protection rating, it is ideal for high performance in outdoor areas.

Key Features

Connection

The ePHS30Ti is suitable for high and low impedance operation. Accordingly, it features a selector switch on the back for setting the desired operating mode. Ex-works, this switch is pre-configured for 70/100V line at 30W.

100V 70V
30W 15W
20W 10W
10W 5W
5W 2.5W
OFF OFF
8Ω/30W

Figure 1: Connection Diagram

Attention: When the loudspeaker is used in 70V systems, the power levels of the 100V setting will be reduced by half compared to the power levels indicated on the selector switch. In the case of 50V systems, the power will be reduced to a quarter.

The connection for low impedance operation allows the configuration of the loudspeakers for these conditions with a maximum power of 30W. If you choose this option, remember that the amplifier is subject to certain limitations when multiple loudspeakers are connected to its output, especially when the total impedance of the devices drops below 4Ω. Furthermore, care must be taken to ensure that the connection cables between the amplifier outputs and the loudspeakers are of good quality and as short as possible; this is particularly important when bridging long distances and the impedance of the loudspeakers is low.

Attention: The 70/100V line loudspeaker distribution system originates from the technical necessity of operating loudspeakers with different impedances and/or power ratings on the same line or amplifier channel without worrying about the total impedance of the resulting group of devices. This solution also makes it possible to work with minimal power loss over long cable runs and with cable cross-sections that are significantly lower than those typically used in low-impedance systems.

ATTENTION: If you accidentally connect the device to a low-impedance amplifier when the selector switch is set to 100V/60W, the loudspeaker will not be damaged, but the power output will be significantly lower than normal. If the loudspeaker is accidentally connected to a 70/100V network when the selector switch is set to 8Ω operation, this would cause severe damage to the loudspeaker.

Installation Location and Mounting

The following general rules should be observed:

High frequencies are, unlike low frequencies, extremely directional, and any obstruction can lead to attenuation of the frequency response.
