X-SENSE WS01 Water Leak Sensor

Introduction

This user manual contains important information about the operation of your water leak sensor. To ensure proper use and trouble-free operation, please read this manual carefully and store it in a safe place for future reference.

This water leak sensor sounds an alarm whenever it comes into contact with water. It can be placed near common household water sources like a dishwasher, hot water heater, or washing machine. With professional monitoring, you will be notified if your home is in danger.

Product Overview

The Water Leak Sensor WS01 has the following components:

  • LED Indicator: A light that signals the device's status.
  • Buzzer: Emits an audible alarm.
  • Sensor Probe: Detects the presence of water.
  • Test/Silence/Activate Button: Used for testing, silencing the alarm, and activating the device.
  • Screws: Used for securing the device casing.

Operating Your Device

Activating the Device

Press and hold the Activate button for 3 seconds. When the red LED flashes once and the alarm sounds one beep ?, then the product is activated and enters the normal working status.

Testing the Device

After the device is activated, you must test the device to ensure it is operating normally. Press the Test button at the bottom of the device. The alarm will deliver 3 beeps ??? paired with the red LED flashing. The sound will automatically stop after the test is completed.

Water Leak Detection

This water leak sensor is used to detect water leaks and floods. Once a water leak occurs, the device will sound an alarm continuously paired with a flashing red LED ⚡. If the user takes no action at this time, the device will continue to sound an alarm until the battery runs out.

Silencing the Device

When the device is triggered, press the Silence button to mute the alarm ?, which will last for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, the device will continue to sound an alarm. To disable the alarm, you must use a dry cloth or paper towel to completely clean and dry the surface of the device.

Installing Your Device

Installation Location

You can use the device near places where water leaks are likely to occur such as near water pipes, basement sump pumps, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets, water heaters, window wells, etc.

Installation Method

This sensor can simply be placed on a flat surface.

Note

  1. Do not place the device upright, otherwise no alarm will be triggered.
  2. Do not place the device on uneven surfaces as this may cause false alarms.

Battery Replacement

When the battery is low, the red LED will flash once every 60 seconds paired with one beep ? to remind the user to replace the batteries. To replace the batteries, remove all screws, take out the used batteries and replace with two new AAA batteries. Then, reinstall the screws and press and hold the Activate button for 3 seconds to activate the device. Then test the device once again.

Note: After replacing the battery, you need to align the positioning points of the upper and lower cases to close the cover and then screw the device closed.

Maintenance

Please shake the device on your hand a few times after it has sounded an alarm to remove any water that may have collected in the buzzer opening. Clean the top and bottom contact probes with a dry cloth and paper towel, then put the device back in its place. This will ensure that the device consistently performs well.

WARNING

  1. Keep the device operating at a temperature between 32–122°F (0–50°C) and humidity below 90% RH.
  2. Do not disassemble the device by force. Otherwise, the device may become damaged.

Troubleshooting

ProblemCauseSolution
The device does not respond when the Test button is pressed.The device is not activated.Check the device to make sure it is activated. The device needs to be activated before it is used for the first time. Otherwise, the device will not be triggered (refer to "Activating the Device" section). Upon activation, press the Test button to make sure it is operating properly.
It is not triggered when there is a water leak.The battery has run out.Replace the battery. Then, press and hold the Activate button for 3 seconds to turn on the device.
A false alarm occurs.There is water in the device.
  • Touching the sensor probes with moist hands may cause an alarm.
  • Some water spills such as while washing hands can cause an alarm, especially when using the device in the bathroom.
  • High humidity may cause a false alarm.
The alarm sound is low.Water entered the buzzer.The device itself is waterproof, and water that goes into the buzzer will not cause damage to the product. Please take the device in your hand and shake it a few times to remove the water from the alarm opening until the alarm sound returns to normal. Then put the device back.
The alarm sound is low.The battery is low.Replace the battery. Then, press and hold the Activate button for 3 seconds to turn on the device.
