Introduction and Battery Requirements
The FURY-DFT can be powered by two 123A primary batteries or one protected 18650 with a minimum 6 Ampere (A) discharge rate. Fully charged, protected non-SureFire branded 18650 batteries that have a maximum discharge rate of less than 6A may not allow the FURY-DFT to operate normally. For compatible batteries, visit www.surefire.com to purchase the SF18650B, which comes standard with a minimum 8-10A discharge rate. Never use an unprotected 18650 in the FURY-DFT, as this can result in fire and/or venting.
SureFire No-Hassle Guarantee
SureFire warrants that if a customer purchases one of its products, and it is determined to be defective in material and/or workmanship during the customer's lifetime, SureFire will repair or replace it without hassle.
The warranty does not cover consumables or normal wear-and-tear (e.g., batteries draining, headbands wearing out, ink cartridges running out, switches wearing out) or damage resulting from abuse, alterations, unauthorized repairs, or use contrary to SureFire’s user manuals.
SureFire reserves the right to replace an obsolete product with a current production, like model. For issues not covered under warranty, SureFire can arrange for repairs for a reasonable fee.

Lockout Tailcap Operation
The lockout tailcap (US PAT. RE40125) prevents accidental activation.
To enable lockout: Rotate tailcap clockwise until tight. [Diagram: Shows the tailcap mechanism in the 'ENABLE' position, indicating clockwise rotation.]
To disable lockout: Rotate tailcap counterclockwise until light will not activate when the pushbutton is pressed. [Diagram: Shows the tailcap mechanism in the 'DISABLE' position, indicating counterclockwise rotation.]
Light Operation
FURY-DFT: Press or click the tailcap switch to activate.
FURY-IB-DF: Press or click the tailcap switch for Intellibeam mode. To return to off, press or click within two seconds. For high-output only, press or click within two seconds after returning to off.
Note: For the Intellibeam sensor to function correctly, keep the lens clean of fingerprints and other debris.
Battery Replacement
Most SureFire illumination tools ship preloaded with batteries. To load or replace batteries:
- Unscrew tailcap counterclockwise and remove. [Diagram: Shows the tailcap being unscrewed from the flashlight body.]
- Remove old batteries and dispose of them properly.
- Insert two new 123A lithium batteries or one 18650 battery with the positive (+) terminal oriented forward. [Diagram: Shows batteries being inserted into the flashlight body, with the positive terminal facing the correct direction.]
- Replace tailcap by screwing on clockwise. Press the pushbutton (with tailcap enabled) to test. [Diagram: Shows the tailcap being screwed back onto the flashlight body, and the pushbutton being pressed to test.]

SF18650B Battery Information
Warning: Use of substandard batteries can cause injury or property damage. Visit www.surefire.com/batterysafety.
The SF18650B is a Lithium Ion protected 18650 battery with micro USB charge capability. It allows convenient charging using any USB power source (e.g., USB wall charger, computer/laptop, power bank, automotive USB port). An external 18650 compatible CC-CV cradle charger can also be used for potentially faster charging.
Operation: The SF18650B can be used as a standard protected 18650. Its advantage is direct charging via the micro USB port, eliminating the need for an external cradle. The battery comes with a 6-inch USB Type-A to micro USB Type-B cable. Plug the micro USB end into the battery's micro USB receptacle. The LED indicator shows the charge state: RED for charging, GREEN for fully charged. The battery can remain connected to the power source; the internal charge algorithm will restart charging when the cell voltage drops below 4-5% of the float voltage. Typical charge time via micro USB for a fully depleted battery is over 5 hours. An external charger can shorten this time.
The quiescent drain from the protection circuit is 40uA. Combined with cell self-discharge, a fully charged battery can maintain usable capacity for 2-3 years in storage.
