What's Included

Setup

The Tensor-SOLO can be used with one or two spacer units depending on placement and intended use. For floor-mounted operation, two spacer pillars are recommended.

Place the subwoofer on a stable surface in the desired location, then attach the spacer pillars by pressing them firmly. Finally, insert the column loudspeaker, ensuring all joints are securely in place. Care must be taken to position the unit safely, ensuring it cannot be knocked over or tripped upon. If in doubt, the unit should be secured.

Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the assembly process. 'A' represents the Tensor-SOLO Subwoofer and amplifier. 'B' represents two identical spacer pillars. 'C' represents the Column loudspeaker. The connection points feature a 'QUICK CONNECT PUSH FIT' mechanism.

Controls

Channels 1/2

  1. Level Control: Adjusts the input level for Channels 1 and 2 individually. Start with the level at minimum during initial setup and gradually increase it to a suitable volume.
  2. Line/Mic Switch: Selects the input gain for each channel. The MIC setting adds 40 dB for lower-level inputs, while the LINE setting adds 0 dB.
  3. Reverb Switch: Toggles the internal reverb for each channel independently. The reverb level is controlled separately.
  4. XLR/6.3mm Combo Inputs: Channels 1 and 2 feature combo inputs accepting either XLR or 6.3mm jack connectors. They can accommodate balanced or unbalanced signals.

Channels 3/4

  1. Level Control: Adjusts the input level for both line-level Channels 3 and 4. Start with the level at minimum during initial setup and gradually increase it to a suitable volume.
  2. Bluetooth Indicator: A blue LED indicates Bluetooth status. Flashing signifies an attempt to connect, while a solid blue light indicates an active connection. Press the button briefly to connect to your device; it will appear as 'HH-Tensor'. To connect a second system, press and hold the TWS button while a device is already connected. Then, press and hold the TWS button on your second system for automatic pairing.
  3. Aux and RCA Inputs: A pair of RCA sockets and a single 3.5mm stereo jack socket for additional audio sources. These are intended for line-level audio devices and can be used simultaneously.

Main Controls

  1. Master Volume: Controls the overall volume for all 4 channels. Set the volume to minimum when setting up inputs and gradually increase it to a suitable listening level. The Power LED glows green when the system is powered on. It turns red when the signal is being limited by the built-in limiters. Occasional red blinking is normal, but continuous red illumination indicates the limiter is active; in this case, reduce the master volume.
  2. Reverb Level: Adjusts the reverb level for Channels 1/2. This function is active only when the Reverb switches (3) are engaged.
  3. DSP Preset Selection: The Tensor-SOLO loads 4 EQ presets to enhance your sound based on the application. Use the button to cycle through the presets. Four green LEDs illuminate sequentially to indicate the currently selected preset. The LEDs show which preset is active:
    • MUSIC: Bass and treble boost with flat mids.
    • BAND: Bass boost, flat mids, and slight treble cut.
    • NATURAL: Mostly flat with a slight cut to bass and treble.
    • SPEECH: Significant bass cut and otherwise flat, intended for use with microphones.
  4. Mix Out: A line-level output that sums all 4 channels, taken before the master volume control.

Power Input

  1. Voltage Selector Switch: The Tensor-SOLO is a dual-voltage device suitable for worldwide use. This switch should already be set correctly for your country. While efforts have been made to select the correct voltage for the region of use, it is recommended to check this before the first power-on. Incorrect voltage settings can cause damage. Change this setting only with the power cord unplugged and ensure it is correctly set before powering on. A fuse change (14) is required when switching voltages.
  2. Power Switch: Turns the system on and off. It is recommended to keep the master volume at minimum when powering on and off.
  3. AC Input Socket: IEC input for connecting the supplied power cable. The fuse is located in the pull-out drawer. Replace the fuse only with the type and rating specified on the rear panel.

Safety and Warnings

To fully enjoy the benefits of your new product and ensure long, trouble-free performance, please read this user manual carefully and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

  • Unpacking: Upon unpacking your product, please carefully check for any signs of damage during transit from the factory to your retailer. In the unlikely event of damage, repack your unit in its original carton and contact your retailer. It is strongly recommended to retain the original shipping carton, as in the unlikely event that your unit develops a fault, you can return it securely packed to your retailer for rectification.
  • Amplifier Connection: To avoid damage, it is generally advisable to establish and follow a pattern for powering your system on and off. With all system components connected, power on source equipment, mixers, effects processors, etc., BEFORE powering on your amplifier. Many products exhibit large transient voltage spikes when powered on and off, which can lead to damage to your loudspeakers. By powering on your amplifier LAST and ensuring that the level control is set to minimum, no transients from other equipment should reach your loudspeakers. Wait for all system components to stabilise, normally a few seconds. Likewise, when powering down your system, always turn down the level controls on your amplifier and then switch off its power supply before switching off other equipment.
  • Cables: Never use unshielded cables or microphone cables for loudspeaker connections, as they are not robust enough to handle the amplifier load and could damage your entire system. Use good quality shielded cables throughout.
  • Maintenance: The user should not attempt to service these products. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Observe all warnings.
  • Follow all instructions.
  • Do not use this equipment near water.
  • Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • A Class I appliance must be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earth connection. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. For your safety, the wide blade or the third prong is provided. If the supplied plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician to replace your obsolete outlet.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Use only attachments/accessories provided by the manufacturer.
  • Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the equipment. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
  • Never break off the grounding pin. Connect the unit only to a power supply of the type marked on the unit next to the power cord.
  • The mains plug or appliance coupler serves as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable. The user should allow for easy access to all mains plugs, mains couplers and mains switches used in conjunction with this equipment so that they can be easily disconnected. Disconnect the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture and does not operate normally or has been dropped.
  • Hearing Protection Guidance: Exposure to extremely high noise levels can cause permanent hearing loss. Individual susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss varies greatly, but almost everyone will lose some hearing if exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a sufficient amount of time. The U.S. Government's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set the following permissible noise exposures: According to OSHA, any exposure over the above permissible limits may result in some hearing loss. When operating this amplifier system, wear ear protectors or protective devices for the ear canals or over the ears to prevent permanent hearing loss, if the exposure exceeds the limits stated above. To prevent potentially damaging exposure to high sound pressure levels, it is recommended that all persons exposed to equipment capable of producing high sound pressure levels, such as this amplifier system, be protected by hearing protectors while the equipment is in operation.
  • Kickback Positioning: If your unit features a tilt-back mechanism or kick-back cabinet design, use this design feature with caution. As the amplifier can easily be moved between a straight and a tilted-back position, use it only on a level, stable surface. Do NOT operate the amplifier on a desk, table, shelf, or any other unsuitable, unstable platform.

UK Plug Wiring (if applicable)

If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this equipment do not correspond with the colours marking the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

  • The green-yellow coloured wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter E, the earth symbol, green or green-yellow.
  • The blue coloured wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or colour black.
  • The brown coloured wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or colour red.
