- If the sound becomes distorted or faint, replace the batteries.
Attention Regarding Batteries
- Do not mix new and old batteries, or batteries of different types.
- To prevent leakage or explosion, do not charge, heat, or attempt to disassemble batteries.
- If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion of internal parts.
Antenna Operation
- For FM reception, extend the FM antenna (1) fully for best results.
- For AM reception, the radio uses its internal magnetic antenna. You can improve reception by rotating the radio's position.

Avoid Choking Hazard
Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Protect Your Hearing
Use the lowest volume necessary. Turn up volume only in noisy surroundings. Turn down volume before using a headset or earpiece.
Turn Off Your Radio Power in Specific Conditions
Turn off your radio before removing/installing batteries or accessories, or when charging.
Turn off your radio in potentially hazardous environments, such as near electrical blasting caps, in blasting areas, or in explosive atmospheres (e.g., flammable gas, dust particles, metallic powders). Also, turn off the radio while refueling or parked at gasoline service stations.
To Avoid Electromagnetic Interference and/or Compatibility Conflicts
Turn off your radio in facilities with posted notices (e.g., hospitals, healthcare facilities with sensitive medical devices like pacemakers or hearing aids).
Turn off your radio when on board an aircraft. Use must comply with applicable regulations and airline crew instructions.
Avoid Burns
Antennas
Do not use a portable radio with a damaged antenna. Contact with a damaged antenna can cause minor burns.
Batteries
Be cautious when handling batteries. Conductive materials (jewelry, keys, chains) touching battery terminals can cause a short circuit, leading to heat and burns. Avoid placing batteries with metal objects in pockets or containers.
Long Transmission
When used for extended transmissions, the radio's radiator and chassis may become hot.
Safety Operation
Forbid
- Do not use chargers outdoors or in moist environments; use only in dry conditions.
- Do not disassemble chargers, as this may risk electrical shock or fire.
- Do not operate a charger if it is broken or damaged.
- Do not place a portable radio in or near an airbag deployment area in a vehicle, as it may be propelled with great force, causing injury.
To Reduce Risk
- When disconnecting a charger, pull by the plug, not the cord.
- Unplug the charger from the AC outlet before performing maintenance or cleaning.
- Contact Retekess for assistance with repairs and service.
