Safety Instructions
General Safety
Important: Read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference. Improper use can lead to serious injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Avoid operating in explosive atmospheres (flammable liquids, gases, dust). Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance.
- Electrical Safety: Do not expose the product to rain or moisture. If using outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use a residual current device (RCD) for damp locations. Do not modify the plug. Keep cords away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts.
- Personal Safety: Stay alert and use common sense. Do not operate when tired, under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection ?, hearing protection ?, and sturdy footwear. Keep hair, clothing, and jewelry away from moving parts. Ensure proper balance and footing.
Battery Safety
- Only charge batteries with the specified charger.
- Do not expose batteries to heat, fire, or direct sunlight.
- Do not short-circuit battery terminals.
- Keep batteries away from flammable materials.
- If battery fluid leaks, avoid contact and rinse affected areas with water. Seek medical attention if it contacts eyes.
- Do not use batteries for other products.
- Charge and use batteries within the temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from metal objects.
Hedge Trimmer Specific Safety
- Keep all body parts away from the cutting blades ?.
- Never reach into the cutting area while the blades are moving.
- Always attach the blade guard when transporting or storing the trimmer.
- Operate the trimmer only with the safety lock-off lever engaged and the trigger pressed.
- Never operate the trimmer with damaged safety features.
- Do not use the trimmer while standing on a ladder.
- Ensure the telescopic pole is securely locked before use.
- Check for hidden wires or cables before cutting.

Diagrams and Operation
Assembly
Diagrams A1/A2: Illustrate the assembly of the telescopic pole to the motor unit. Ensure the markings align and tighten the locking nut.
Operating Positions
Diagrams O1-O4: Show the four main operating positions:
- O1: Side trimming with the telescopic pole retracted.
- O2: Vertical trimming at height with the telescopic pole extended.
- O3: High horizontal trimming with the motor unit angled at 75° and the pole extended.
- O4: Trimming low to the ground with the motor unit angled at -60° and the pole extended.
Adjusting the Cutting Head Angle
Diagram O5: The motor unit can be tilted in 15° increments from 75° to -60° for optimal cutting angles. Press and hold the orange buttons to adjust, then release to lock.
Extending the Telescopic Pole
Diagram O6: The telescopic pole can be extended up to 50 cm. Loosen the orange nut, extend the pole to the desired length, and retighten the nut.
Battery and Charging
Diagrams I1/I2: Show the battery pack being inserted into the charger and the charger being connected to a power outlet. The battery can be charged at any time without affecting its lifespan.
Diagram I3: The battery features a charge indicator. Lights indicate the charge level during charging and operation.
Starting and Stopping the Trimmer
Diagrams O7/O8/O9: To start, remove the blade guard, insert the battery, hold the trimmer with both hands, push the safety lock-off lever forward, and pull the trigger. To stop, release the trigger and remove the battery. Always re-attach the blade guard after use.
Safety Lock-off Lever: Prevents accidental starting.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Hedge Trimmer
Clean the trimmer with a damp cloth. Use a soft brush for ventilation slots. For stubborn residue on blades, clean with a brush and apply low-viscosity oil (e.g., GARDENA care oil). Avoid contact between oil and plastic parts. Wear gloves.
⚠️ WARNING: Do not clean with water jets or chemicals.
Cleaning the Battery and Charger
Ensure battery and charger contacts are clean and dry before charging. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.
Storage and Disposal
Storage
Store the trimmer out of reach of children in a dry, frost-free place. Ensure the blade guard is attached.
Disposal
Dispose of the product and battery according to local environmental regulations. Do not dispose of with household waste.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
