How to Use ISSA™ 4 Plus

Unlock Your Device

Before first use, unlock your toothbrush by registering your ISSA™ via the FOREO app and activating the warranty. Follow these steps:

1. Download the FOREO For You app.
2. Log in or sign up for a FOREO account.
3. Add device via the app.
4. Choose the device series.
5. Follow app instructions and fill in purchase information.

Your toothbrush is now ready to use!

How to Use

1. APPLY TOOTHPASTE: Apply your regular toothpaste to the ISSA™ brush head. Press the universal button to turn on the ISSA™ 4 Plus and select your preferred mode. (Default: Deep Clean. Feather button for Sensitive mode. Tooth button for Whitening mode. Settings can be adjusted via the FOREO app).

   NOTE: Avoid toothpastes containing bleach, as they may damage or discolor the silicone.

2. BRUSH: Brush your teeth as you would with a manual toothbrush for 2 minutes. Use the back of the brush head to gently clean your tongue and inner cheeks.
3. RINSE: Rinse your mouth and the ISSA™ 4 Plus with water.

Repeat twice daily for a fresher, brighter smile!

Important Safety Information

• Discontinue use and consult a physician if you experience any discomfort.
• Consult your dental professional if you are undergoing treatment for any oral condition.
• Do not share your ISSA™ toothbrush for hygiene reasons.
• This toothbrush is not intended for children under 5. Close supervision is required when used by or near children.
• Children should not play with the toothbrush.
• Discontinue use if the product appears damaged (brush head, handle, charging cable).
• Do not use if the device is overheating or malfunctioning.
• Avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat or boiling water.
• Use only with a SELV power adapter.
• It is recommended to use IEC60950 standard power suppliers for charging.
• Before charging, ensure the plug and socket are dry to prevent electric shock, short circuit, or fire.
• Do not use the device while charging. Discontinue use if the device or charger appears damaged. Use only the supplied USB charging cable.
• Do not use while driving or operating heavy machinery.
• Do not use the device when it is plugged in.
• Do not insert objects into any openings.
• The battery must be removed before disposal. The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains before battery removal. Dispose of the battery safely.
• This product contains no serviceable parts.
• This device is intended for home use and promoting oral hygiene. FOREO is not responsible for consequences arising from misuse or improper applications.

Maintenance

Cleaning ISSA™ 4 Plus

After each use, wash the brush head with warm water, running your fingers through the bristles. Allow the toothbrush to air dry. If blood is visible on the brush surface, clean the device with soap and water.

NOTE: Do not place the ISSA™ 4 Plus in a UV sanitation case. Avoid cleaning products containing alcohol, petrol, or acetone. For optimal hygiene, spray the toothbrush body with FOREO Silicone Cleaning Spray weekly and rinse with warm water.

Replacing the Brush Head

All ISSA™ brush heads are compatible with ISSA™ 4 Plus.

To replace a brush head: Ensure the ISSA™ 4 Plus is turned off. Lift the brush head straight up to detach. Align the center hole of the new brush head with the metal dowel on the handle and push down to attach securely.

Hybrid Brush Heads last up to 6 months. Silicone Sensitive Brush Heads last up to 1 year.

Order replacement brush heads via the FOREO app, at www.foreo.com, or from an authorized FOREO retailer.

Charging ISSA™ 4 Plus

The indicator light at the base of the ISSA™ changes color to show battery level (yellow to red indicates low battery). When the light turns red, recharge the toothbrush using the USB charging cable. Connect to any outlet for 2.5 hours. The toothbrush is fully charged when the indicator light stops blinking.

CAUTION: Ensure the charging port and cable are dry before charging. Do NOT use the ISSA™ 4 Plus while charging. Do NOT charge for more than 24 hours. Use only the FOREO-provided USB charging cable.

Troubleshooting

ISSA™ is not activated when pressing the universal button:

• First use: Unlock by registering via the FOREO app and activating the warranty (see 'Unlock Your Device').
• Battery empty: Recharge for up to 2.5 hours. Restart by holding the universal power button.
• Travel-lock activated: Unlock by holding the [power-symbol] and [mode-button] buttons together.

ISSA™ cannot be switched off / interface buttons unresponsive:

• Microprocessor malfunction: Connect the USB charging cable and/or press and hold the universal power button to restart.

ISSA's indicator light changes color:

• Yellow to Red: Battery almost empty. Recharge for up to 2.5 hours. Restart by holding the universal power button.
• Breathing white: Battery is charging.
• Blinking white: Toothbrush is in Bluetooth pairing mode.

ISSA's indicator light does not blink when the USB charging cable is connected:

• Battery fully charged (up to 365 days of use).
• Battery drained: Allow several minutes to acknowledge the USB charging cable.
• USB charging cable not properly connected: Check outlet/socket and charging port.

ISSA™ has fallen into water and the charging port is wet:

• Dry and continue use. The ISSA™ toothbrush is fully waterproof, and the charging port is sealed.

Register Warranty

Activate your 2-Year Limited Warranty by registering through the FOREO For You app or visiting foreo.com/product-registration.

2-Year Limited Warranty

FOREO warrants this device for TWO (2) YEARS from the original purchase date against defects due to faulty workmanship or materials under Normal Use. The warranty covers functional parts but excludes cosmetic deterioration from wear and tear, or damage from accident, misuse, or neglect. Attempting to open or disassemble the device or its accessories voids the warranty.

If a defect is discovered and reported to FOREO within the warranty period, FOREO will, at its discretion, replace the device free of charge. Claims require reasonable evidence of the purchase date falling within the warranty period. Keep your original purchase receipt and these warranty conditions for validation.

To claim your warranty, log in to your account at www.foreo.com and select the warranty claim option. Shipping costs are nonrefundable. This warranty is in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not affect them.

* The 2-Year Limited Warranty does not apply to replacement brush heads.

Disposal Information

Battery Removal

NOTE: This process is irreversible and opening the device voids the warranty. This action should only be performed when the device is ready for disposal.

This device contains a lithium-ion battery that must be removed before disposal and not thrown away with household waste. To remove the battery:

1. Pull off the brush head.
2. Peel off the silicone outer layer from the toothbrush body.
3. Open the inner plastic shell.
4. Remove the battery.
5. Dispose of the battery in accordance with local environmental regulations. Wear gloves for safety.
