SHIELD MegaGo 2 Quick Start Guide

Smarter by Design

Included in the Box

The SHIELD MegaFi High Power User Equipment (HPUE) paired with a specially designed Band 14 antenna puts everything in one case for the maximum high power user equipment experience. For set up, follow these steps.

Prerequisites

Ensure you or the distributor sending you the MegaGo 2 have done the following:

Power Up

Before powering on, open the vent and fan caps on the sides of the unit. To power on, press and hold the power button located in the bottom left corner until you hear the fan, or approximately 3 seconds. Wait for the unit to fully power up, which, in most instances will occur within three minutes.

Connect to Wi-Fi

The factory generated Wi-Fi SSID, authentication mode, and password are provided on the device display. You can also scan the QR code on the device display to automatically connect to Wi-Fi. The SSID will be present within 1-2 minutes of power up as noted above.

Complete the Router Configuration

  1. Connect your computer to the router LAN1 port via Ethernet cable or using Wi-Fi with the SSID name and password shown on the MegaFi 2 display. Default SSID and password are also available on the label underneath the router.
  2. To configure your router settings through Mission Control, open your computer browser window, enter https://192.168.113.1, and accept any browser certificate warnings.
  3. At the router's login screen, enter "admin" as username and the password. The username and password are available on the display. Default username and password are also available on the label underneath the router. Then click Login.
  4. When the End User License Agreement appears, complete the information at the bottom of the form and click Apply. Note: A factory reset restores the original default password.
  5. You will then be directed to update your password. Please update the password and click Save.

In Use

Be sure the lid to the case is closed. This will provide the best connectivity, as the antenna in the case lid is designed to operate with the lid closed. Once the unit is operating and the lid is closed, please lay flat with logo side up as indicated on the outside of the case.

Power Recharge

To recharge the case, remove the power cord from the slot inside the case and plug it into the DC power port located on the left side of the case. Turn the power off before charging. Connecting the system to power while the MegaFi is on will cause the MegaFi to lose power. When replacing the charger in the device, please ensure they are returned to the slot to avoid damage when closing the lid.
