Troubleshooting and FAQs

Why playlist is not displayed on the car screen as described?

If you are an iPhone user wishing to display Apple Music playlists and track titles on your car screen, follow these steps:

  1. Manually slide the button to the right position to set it to iPod Mode (blue light ON, red light OFF).
  2. Install the Apple Music app and subscribe. Ensure at least one song is saved within the Apple Music app. This step is crucial for functionality.
  3. Unplug and replug the Airdual device. This step is necessary to make iPod Mode effective; otherwise, the mode switching will be unsuccessful.

Once iPod Mode is effective, your iPhone Apple Music playlist and track titles will be displayed on the car screen.

How to enable Audi (Display track info) feature?

On the Audi MMI music interface, click the [Setup] button, enter settings, and select [Display track info].

Audi MMI2G Connection Error: "Interface. Cannot read from connected device."

Scenario: You might encounter an error message on the car's infotainment screen stating, "Interface. Cannot read from connected device. Please check device and connected cable." This typically occurs during the first-time use.

Reason: When the Audi MMI2G connector is powered on, it must connect to an external device and receive signals within 5 seconds. Exceeding this time limit results in the error.

Solution:

  1. For first-time use, plug the adapter into the AMI connector and successfully connect your Bluetooth. Do not delete the paired Bluetooth connection.
  2. Slide the button to the left to select General Mode. Ensure both the red and blue lights are ON (red light indicates General Mode).
  3. If the error occurs, unplug and replug the adapter. This action ensures the AMI2G connector connects to the adapter within the 5-second window.

Tip: After the first use, keep your phone's Bluetooth connected to the adapter before starting your car engine.

General Car Media Interface Display:

The car's infotainment system may display various media browsing options, including:

A typical screen might show a timestamp like "12:00" and options like "Import Media".

Bluetooth connection failure / Car radio doesn't recognize Bluetooth adapter / No audio files / No playable data found on medium.

Solutions:

  1. Choose General Mode: Slide the button to the left position to select General Mode.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Unplug and replug the Bluetooth adapter. This step is important.
