The BOYA BY-BMM300 is an omnidirectional conference microphone with an integrated speaker, designed for various scenarios such as interface-mounting applications, video calls, and phone conferences. Its portable and compact design allows you to take it anywhere and start your conference anytime. It captures sound within a 2-meter (6.6ft) radius with 360-degree voice coverage, making it ideal for video conferencing by simultaneously picking up all voices within the effective range.

The built-in speaker and volume gain control greatly enhance sound output for smartphones, tablets, and PCs during calls, ensuring clear audio reception.

Product Structure

The BY-BMM300 features the following components:

  • 1. Volume -: Decreases the volume.
  • 2. POWER/MUTE switch: Turns the device on/off and mutes/unmutes the microphone.
  • 3. Volume +: Increases the volume.
  • 4. POWER & VOLUME & MUTE indicator: Displays the status of the device.
    • Power On: Solid Blue Light
    • Low Battery: Solid Red Light
    • Charging: Flashes Red Light
    • Fully Charged: Solid Red Light (when charging cable is connected)
    • Mute On: All Indicators Light Red
  • 5. LINE IN jack: For audio input.
  • 6. USB Type-C port: For power and data connection.
  • 7. Headphone monitoring jack: Connect headphones here for audio monitoring.
  • 8. 3.5mm TRRS connect cable: Connects to devices with a 3.5mm audio jack. Requires power from the BY-BMM300's built-in battery.
  • 9. USB Type-C connect cable: Connects to Type-C devices, drawing power from them.
  • 10. USB Type-C to USB-A connect cable: Connects to computers (Windows/Mac) via USB-A port, drawing power from them.

How to Use

Connecting to a Smartphone or Tablet:

  1. Connect the 3.5mm TRRS output cable to your smartphone's audio jack. For iOS devices with a Lightning port, an optional 3.5mm TRRS to Lightning audio adapter is required (not included).
  2. Power on the microphone using the POWER/MUTE switch and begin your conference.
  3. Note: When connecting to Android Type-C devices, ensure the device supports OTG (On-The-Go) functionality for the BY-BMM300 to work.

Connecting to a Computer or Laptop:

Setup for Windows:

  1. Connect the microphone to your computer using the supplied USB Type-C to USB-A cable.
  2. The computer may display a "Found New Hardware wizard" on the first connection. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete driver installation for the BOYA BY-BMM300. This may need to be repeated for new computers or ports.
  3. Access sound settings: Click the Start Menu > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound (or Sound).
  4. Under the "Recording" tab, select "BY-BMM300" as the default recording device and click "OK".
  5. Under the "Playback" tab, select "BY-BMM300" as the default playback device and click "OK".

Setup for Apple System (macOS):

  1. Connect the BOYA BY-BMM300 to the Type-C port on your computer using the appropriate cable (USB Type-C to USB-C or USB Type-C to USB-A).
  2. Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner > System Preferences > Sound.
  3. Select "BY-BMM300" as the sound input device.
  4. Select "BY-BMM300" as the sound output device and click "OK".

Important Notes

  • If the conference microphone will not be used for an extended period, please disconnect the cable.
  • Avoid touching the microphone during recording, as this can introduce noise.
  • Keep the microphone away from high-voltage equipment or strong electromagnetic fields to prevent recorded noise.
  • Do not use or store the microphone in hot or humid environments.
  • To avoid recording ambient noise like fan or air conditioner hum, place the microphone in a quiet environment. Avoid placing it near electrical appliances that generate noise.
  • Set the speaker volume to an appropriate level to prevent distortion at high volumes.
  • Some devices may not be fully compatible with the microphone due to insufficient power supply or system version differences.

Maintenance

  • Do not operate the device with wet hands or feet.
  • Clean the equipment only as described in the instructions.
