This document provides a quick setup guide for the PAX IM25 unattended payment terminal. Please ensure all listed items are included with your terminal. If any items are missing, contact your dealer.

Product Description
Front View
The front view of the IM25 terminal includes:
- 1. LCD touchscreen
- 2. Speaker grille
- 3. Proximity and light detector
- 4. LED status indicator
- 5. Camera flash LED
- 6. Camera lens
Back View
The back view of the IM25 terminal features various ports and indicators:
- 1. Digital IO port
- 2. MDB port

- 8. Ethernet port (RJ45)
- 9. RS232 (RJ45) port

Installation
SAM Cards
The device has two SAM card slots located on the back, accessible when the back cover is removed. To install a SAM card:
- Open the card slot.
- Insert the card with contacts facing the IM25 and the clipped corner aligned with the slot.
- Lock the mount with the card inside.
Note: Do not power on the IM25 while installing or removing SAM cards. Replace the back cover and screw it in place to reassemble.

The device dimensions are:
- Width: 108.40 mm
- Height: 72.50 mm
- Depth: 19.00 mm (front to back of main body)
- Depth: 24.00 mm (including rear protrusion)
Device Installation
To install the device:
- Align the back of the device with the mounting bracket, ensuring four stud bolts correspond to the mounting points.
- Slide the mounting bracket into place and secure it with four M4 nuts.
- Slide the IM25 unit into the mounting bracket, ensuring the back portion rests securely.
- Secure the IM25 unit to the mounting bracket using four M4 screws, applying a torque of 0.4 to 0.6 Nm to each screw.
Instructions
Power On/Off
- Power On: Plug the IM25 into an appropriate power source (7 to 48 VDC) via the MDB port, the digital IO port, or the RS232 RJ45 port.
- Power Off: Disconnect the IM25 from its power source.
Contactless Transactions
When the device is ready for a contactless transaction, a contactless icon will appear on screen. Orient the card or NFC device parallel to the screen and hold it at a distance of 4 cm or less directly above the contactless icon.
Code Scanner Transactions
When the device is ready to scan a 1D or 2D code, orient the code parallel to the code scanning camera and place it directly in front of the camera.
Environmental Conditions
- Storage Temperature: -30°C to 70°C (-22°F to 158°F)
- Operating Temperature: -20°C to 70°C (-3°F to 158°F)
- Relative Humidity: 5% to 95% (non-condensing)
Maintenance and Usage
- If any cables become damaged, seek a replacement.
- Do not insert unknown materials into any port on the IM25, as this may cause serious damage.
- Only qualified personnel should repair this product.
- The IM25 is designed for outdoor use. During normal use, its surface should be kept clear of dirt and possible liquid contaminants.
- While designed to resist dust and liquid ingress, the IM25 is not designed to resist pressurized liquids (e.g., water hoses). Keep the back of the device away from dust and liquids.
- Ensure various cables connect to provide the appropriate voltages at the proper pins.

In order to avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity to the antenna shall not be less than 20 cm during normal operation.
