Registering and Setting Up

This section guides you through the initial setup and registration process for Porsche Connect services.

Important Information on Porsche Connect

Availability: Porsche Connect services vary depending on the country and vehicle equipment. The content described may differ.

Data Connection: A data connection is required for Porsche Connect. This can be established via the vehicle's embedded SIM card, the vehicle hotspot, or an external WiFi hotspot.

ℹ️ Information: In some countries, customer identity verification is required for the embedded SIM card for legal reasons. This is typically done via a video call with a third-party provider.

The active data connection status is shown in the PCM and Device Manager.

Using While Driving

⚠️ Warning: Operating the PCM or other vehicle components while driving can be distracting and lead to accidents. Certain functions are only available when the vehicle is stationary.

Use the steering wheel and infotainment system only if the traffic situation permits. If in doubt, stop the vehicle safely.
Do not use mobile phones or other mobile devices while driving.
Always use hands-free equipment.
Avoid reaching through the steering wheel spokes while driving.

Apps

Various apps are available, downloadable from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

⚠️ Warning: Using and operating apps while driving can distract you and lead to loss of vehicle control. Only use and operate apps when the vehicle is stationary.

Registration and Activation

My Porsche

My Porsche is the central platform for managing your vehicles and services, accessed via your personal Porsche ID.

Logging into My Porsche

Porsche ID account must be activated.
Open My Porsche (via Porsche website).
Log in with your Porsche ID and password.

Activating Porsche ID Account and Porsche Connect Services

You will receive an activation email for your Porsche ID.
Click the activation button and enter the confirmation code.
Set a password and security code for your Porsche ID.
Complete profile information to activate the free inclusive Porsche Connect period (availability varies by country).

ℹ️ Information: If you do not receive the activation email, contact your Porsche partner.

Security Code

A security code is required for logging into the vehicle and using remote services.

Set, change, or reset the security code in user settings.
The security code is used for services like unlocking the Porsche ID, changing login settings, deactivating the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS), and activating remote functions for secondary users.

Configuring Services

Ensure your Porsche ID account is activated.
Open My Porsche, log in, and navigate to the 'Services' tab.
Select and activate your desired service.

ℹ️ Information: The Porsche Connect service package includes a free period, with details on duration and subsequent costs available online or from your Porsche partner. Data charges may apply depending on your mobile tariff, especially abroad. A flat-rate data plan is recommended.

Login of the Porsche ID (Porsche Connect User) in the Vehicle

Porsche Connect user (Porsche ID) must be registered in My Porsche.
Porsche ID security code must be known.
Navigate via: ➡️ Settings ➡️ Account ➡️ Create account.
Enter your Porsche ID, email, and password, then log in.

Adding a Navigation Destination

Destinations can be set via the My Porsche portal or directly in the vehicle.

Adding a Navigation Destination in the My Porsche Portal

Porsche ID account must be activated.
Open My Porsche, log in, select 'Services', then 'Navigation Plus'.
Select 'Add new destination', enter details, and the destination will appear in My Porsche and can be sent to the vehicle.

Establishing a Data Connection

Establishing a Data Connection via an Integrated SIM Card

This depends on the country. The connection is established automatically when operational readiness is met.

ℹ️ Information: If a connection fails, check that private mode is deactivated and that there is sufficient network reception. Restarting the PCM may also help.

Establishing a Data Connection via an External WiFi Hotspot

Currently only available in Russia.

ℹ️ Information: Using external WiFi hotspots may incur additional costs.

In the status area, select WiFi settings and search for external hotspots.
Select a hotspot and enter the WiFi access data.

Enabling the PCM WiFi Hotspot

Up to eight WiFi devices can connect to the vehicle hotspot.

Navigate: ➡️ Settings ➡️ Connection assistant ➡️ Connect to PCM hotspot.
The PCM device name and WiFi password will be displayed.
Enter these details on your device or scan the QR code.

Booking a Data Package

Data packages are required for the WiFi hotspot connection.

Ensure a data connection is established via the integrated SIM card.
Book a data package for your country at ? www.porsche.com/connect or via your mobile provider.

Managing and Setting Porsche ID

Manage your Porsche ID settings, including login methods (with/without security code, automatic login), deleting/deregistering accounts, and viewing service overviews.

Granting Remote Access Authorisation: This is required for service control programs and the My Porsche app. It's granted automatically when the main user logs in.

Activating Private Mode: This disables vehicle-specific information transmission to the app and My Porsche. Note that location information may still be transmitted in emergencies.

Inform all vehicle users that communication may be disabled.

Overview of Services

Android Auto

Connect your Android phone to the vehicle via USB to use Android Auto.

Ensure your phone meets the requirements (Android 6+, Android Auto installed, mobile data, Google Assistant enabled).
Use an undamaged original phone cable.

Operating Android Auto with PCM: Apps can be operated via the touch display, rotary push button, or back button. Access the main menu via the Home button.

Operating Android Auto via Google Assistant: Use voice commands via the steering wheel button.

Apple CarPlay

Connect your iPhone to the vehicle via USB to use Apple CarPlay.

Ensure your iPhone meets the requirements (iPhone 7+, iOS 14+, Siri and Apple CarPlay enabled).
Use an undamaged original Apple cable.

Operating Apple CarPlay with PCM: Apps are operated via the touch display, rotary push button, or back button. Access the main menu via the Home button.

Operating Apple CarPlay via Siri Voice Recognition: Use voice commands via the steering wheel button.

Switching Between Apple CarPlay and iPod: Use the Device Manager to switch.

Open Wireless Apple CarPlay: Enables cable-free Apple CarPlay if supported.

Apple Music

Use your Apple Music subscription on the central display. Can be used without a connected mobile phone after setup.

Requirements: Porsche Connect activated, data connection, Apple Music subscription.
Setup involves linking your Apple ID to your Porsche ID.

Functions: Apple Music, Apple Music Library, Podcasts, Porsche playlists, searching tracks via voice control.

Apple Podcasts

Use Apple Podcasts on the central display. Can be used without a connected mobile phone after setup.

Requirements: Apple device, Porsche Connect activated, data connection.
Setup involves linking your Apple ID to your Porsche ID.

Charging Planner

The Charging Planner helps find charging stations for electric vehicles. It automatically adds required charging stations to the route, prioritizing those with at least 50 kW charging power.

Displaying Details on Charging Stations: Information includes name, battery charge, arrival time, distance, and charging duration.

Manually Adding a Charging Station: Stations can be added as stopovers or final destinations.

Activating/Deactivating the Charging Planner: Manage the planner via Navigation settings.

Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM)

PIRM is an extension of the Charging Planner, optimizing the Range drive mode by adjusting settings for the route, including speed limits and air conditioning if enabled.

Porsche Charging Service

Provides access to a network of public charging infrastructure. Functions include locating stations, navigation, authentication (app, RFID card, Plug & Charge), and viewing charging status.

Prerequisites: Porsche Charging Service purchased, Charging App installed.

Finding Charging Stations: Search via the central display or the app. Results can be filtered by power or plug type.

Navigating to the Charging Station: Start navigation directly from the selection.

Authentication and Charging: Various methods are available, including scanning an RFID card, using the app, or Plug & Charge.

Finder

The central search function in PCM navigation for points of interest (restaurants, hotels, car parks, etc.). Destinations can be displayed online and adopted for navigation.

Requirements: Data connection, Porsche Connect activated.
Search categories include Nearby, Along the route, and At destination.

Panorama View: Displays aerial images of selected points of interest.

Function on Demand (FoD)

Allows purchasing and activating vehicle functions remotely.

Purchasing: Via the Porsche Connect Store.
Downloading: Happens automatically in the background.
Activating: Requires vehicle to be parked safely, engine off, parking brake engaged, and battery sufficiently charged.
Deactivating: Done via My Porsche.

⚠️ Notice: Usage restrictions may apply during activation. Do not use the vehicle during the process.

Activation Failed: Follow troubleshooting steps if activation fails.

Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)

Enhances main headlights with dynamic beam adjustment and cornering lights. Purchased and activated via Porsche Connect Store and the vehicle.

Porsche InnoDrive (PID)

Detects speed limits and road conditions up to three kilometers ahead, extending adaptive cruise control functions. Purchased and activated via Porsche Connect Store and the vehicle.

Power Steering Plus

Dynamically adapts steering assistance to speed for precise control at high speeds and easier maneuvering at low speeds. Purchased and activated via Porsche Connect Store and the vehicle.

Active Lane Keeping

Combines distance control and lane keeping on country roads and motorways, also active in traffic jams. Purchased and activated via Porsche Connect Store and the vehicle.

Calendar

Link personal calendars (Google, Office 365, Smartphone) to the PCM. Transfer destinations from calendar entries to the PCM.

Requirements: Porsche Connect user, mobile phone connected, calendar connected.
Add Calendar: Scan QR code with mobile phone to link.
Displaying Views: Weekly and daily views of appointments are available.
Use Appointment Options: Conference dialup, navigation to meetings, reminders, etc.

My Porsche App

Network your mobile phone with the vehicle to retrieve information and make settings remotely. Functions include retrieving vehicle data, remote locking/unlocking, climate control, and sending destinations.

Connecting to PCM via WiFi: Requires WiFi enabled on both devices.
Using App Functions: Requires app connection to PCM, private mode deactivated, and remote access authorisation.

Menu Navigation: Access functions via Vehicle, Map, Discover, and Account menus.

Functions in Vehicle Menu: Display details (mileage, battery status), locking/unlocking, air conditioning control, charging status, and Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS).

Navigation Plus

Provides real-time traffic information, displaying roads in color based on traffic conditions (blue for free-flowing, red for jams).

My Destinations: Store and access favorite destinations.
Satellite Maps: View aerial images of buildings, roads, and terrain.
Online Map Update: Update navigation maps via the internet.

News

Display and read selected news feeds on the central display. News can be read out via voice control.

Configuring News via My Porsche: Add or manage news feeds by URL.
Operating News: Select news channels and articles on the central display.
Reading Out News: Use voice commands to have articles read aloud.

Online Software Update

Update the central display and vehicle software via the internet. Updates download automatically in the background.

⚠️ Notice: Usage restrictions may apply during the update process. Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and not used during the update.

Online Software Update Failed: Follow troubleshooting steps if an update fails.

Radio Plus

Switch between integrated Internet radio and hybrid radio for optimal reception. Internet radio accesses online channels, while hybrid radio selects the best reception source.

Risk Radar

Access anonymised vehicle data to indicate danger spots (accidents, breakdowns, risk of skidding) on the navigation map.

Requirements: Data connection, route guidance active, Porsche Connect activated.

Smart Service

Access and update vehicle maintenance and repair data. Receive messages for required maintenance.

Activating Smart Service: Part of the Connect Care package.
Using Smart Service: View current Smart Service data on the central display.

Opening Component Functions: Access instructions, find workshops, reset components, or enter expiry dates.

Deactivating Smart Service: Can be done via private mode or Connect settings in My Porsche.

Voice Control

Interact with the vehicle using voice commands for various functions like climate control, media, and navigation. Supports online and offline modes.

Starting Voice Control: Via steering wheel button, central display, or by saying "Hey Porsche".
Pausing/Ending Voice Control: Control the interaction flow.
Interrupting Voice Control: Via button or voice input.
External Voice Control: Integration with Siri.

⚠️ Warning: Impaired voice recognition can occur in stressful situations. Do not use voice control in emergencies.

Weather

Display weather information for your travel destination or current location on the central display.

Displaying Weather: Select options for Nearby, At destination, or At another location.
Updating the Display: Reload weather information.
