EasySens® wireless radiator valve actuator for room temperature control
The electronic radiator valve SAB+ eliminates the need for battery changes and cable harnesses. It generates its own electrical energy for operation through thermal energy harvesting, making it maintenance-free. This saves heating costs and simplifies installation. The miniature actuator utilizes the temperature difference between a warm radiator and a cooler room to produce electricity via a thermoelectric generator, storing it in a buffer for continuous power. This product is designed for automation solutions in functional buildings, transmitting sensor data wirelessly over short distances without encryption. It does not communicate directly with the Internet, and any data forwarded via the Internet must be encrypted according to legal requirements. No personal or location data is transmitted.
⚠️ The installation and assembly of electrical equipment should only be performed by authorized personnel.
The product must only be used for its intended application. Unauthorized modifications are prohibited. The product must not be used in conjunction with any equipment that could, directly or indirectly, threaten human health or life, or endanger people, animals, or assets in case of failure. Ensure all power is disconnected before installation. Do not connect to live or operating equipment.

The SAB+ valve actuator is powered by the temperature difference between the mounting flange and the metal housing. A low electrical voltage is generated from a temperature difference of >5K, which is stored in the internal lithium storage. For permanent operation, the energy balance (harvesting - consumption) must be positive.
When installing the valve, ensure:
Energy consumption is proportional to the response time and inversely proportional to the wake-up interval. Outside of the heating period, the "summer bit" should be sent to the SAB+ by the gateway/controller, which extends the wake-up interval to 8 hours.
ℹ️ It is not possible to charge the device via powerbank!

[PDF] EEP: The structure of the data contained in the telegram can be found in the EEP (EnOcean Equipment Profile) list provided by the EnOcean Alliance.
The SAB+ must be mounted before pairing (e.g., with a Message Server / Gateway).
It is not possible to mount the SAB+ with an extended valve push rod!
Diagram Description: The device features a "Learn button" and a red LED indicator.
ℹ️ Do not orientate downwards; refer to the illustration.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the correct mounting orientation, indicating that the device should not be mounted upside down.
The teach-in process of the SAB+ to the gateway (MSG server) is similar to the battery-powered model SAB05.
If there is no automatic initialization, it must be triggered manually.
It may be necessary to manually trigger a learning telegram from the gateway to teach in the valve actuator. Please refer to the gateway's instructions.
The SAB+ communicates according to EEP A5-20-01 and the set measuring/transmission interval. After sending data, it awaits new transmissions from the gateway.
Communication Cycle Interval: Factory default is 10 minutes, individually configurable via airConfig from 2 to 20 minutes in 1-minute steps.
Valve Safe Position: If operation is not possible due to insufficient power, the SAB+ moves to a valve safety position (factory default: 50%, configurable via airConfig).
Frost Prevention Function: If the room temperature falls below 8°C, the valve actuator opens the heating valve until the ambient room temperature reaches 10°C (Hysteresis 2 K).
Communication Loss (Emergency Self-Regulation Mode): If no valid telegram is received for 9 consecutive intervals, the valve actuator enters emergency self-regulation mode and extends the transmission interval to 1 hour. In this mode, it uses the internal temperature sensor and the configured setpoint ("set point on communication loss"). Note the influence of the internal temperature sensor on the heating flow temperature.
Position Referencing: After every 30 movements (changes in valve position), the actuator references its position. The valve is fully opened and then immediately closed to check and correct the end positions (100% and 0%). This occurs regardless of whether the SAB+ is controlled by setpoint temperature, room temperature, or setpoint position, and also when the "summer bit" is set.
Charging Function: The SAB+ includes its energy status in every telegram to indicate impending failure. A micro-USB (type B) port on the valve side can be used for charging (full charge approx. 3.5 hours) using a USB power supply.
Diagram Description: A diagram indicates the location of the Micro-USB port.
ℹ️ It is not possible to charge the device with a powerbank!
Configuration of the SAB+ requires airConfig Version 5.03.03.
After pressing the learn button, the SAB+ appears in the sensor tab, and its parameters are read out.
Key Configuration Parameters:
Factory Reset: Resets the device to factory settings.
