1. SAFETY
1.1. WHEN TO USE:
- ✔️ Anytime a vehicle is parked on a slope.
- ✔️ During loading or unloading.
- ✔️ When performing maintenance or inspections.
1.2. HOW TO POSITION CHOCKS:
- ✔️ LEVEL GROUND: Chock both sides of at least one tyre.
- ✔️ FACING UPHILL: Chock behind both rear wheels.
- ✔️ FACING DOWNHILL: Chock in front of both the front wheels.
1.3. DO:
- ✔️ Place chocks snugly against the tyre tread.
- ✔️ Use chocks rated for the vehicle's weight.
- ✔️ Always chock both sides of the tyre.
1.4. DO NOT:
- ❌ DO NOT place chocks behind the tyre's edge
- ❌ DO NOT rest chocks on top of the tyre.
- ❌ DO NOT use damaged or undersized chocks.
2. OPERATION
Correct Chock Placement
Diagram Description:
- Rear View 1: Illustrates a tyre from the rear. A wheel chock is correctly positioned snugly against the tyre tread on the ground.
- Rear View 2: Shows the same rear view, but the chock is incorrectly placed, not against the tyre tread, and is marked with a prohibition symbol (circle with a slash).
- Top View 1: Illustrates a tyre from the top. A wheel chock is correctly placed on the ground, preventing forward or backward movement.
- Top View 2: Shows the same top view, but the chock is incorrectly placed on the tyre sidewall, and is marked with a prohibition symbol (circle with a slash).
Operation Scenarios
- Level Ground: A pickup truck is shown parked on a flat surface. Wheel chocks are placed on both sides of one of the rear tyres.
- Uphill: A pickup truck is shown parked on an incline facing upwards. Wheel chocks are placed behind both rear tyres, on the outside of each tyre.
- Downhill: A pickup truck is shown parked on an incline facing downwards. Wheel chocks are placed in front of both front tyres, on the outside of each tyre.
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
♻️ Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
