Kospel GRW Immersion Heaters

Product Overview

The Kospel GRW range of immersion heaters is designed for heating water in storage water heaters and heat exchangers. These heaters are equipped with a thermostat and a thermal switch to prevent overheating.

Warranty Conditions

Kospel Sp. z o.o. provides a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects arising from faulty materials and workmanship. In case of a fault, the user must inform the seller. The warranty does not cover issues caused by user error or external factors. The manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace the faulty unit. Warranty repairs are free of charge and the warranty period is extended by the duration of any repair downtime. Warranty conditions apply to products purchased and used within specific regions as indicated in the manual.

Intended Use

The immersion heater is exclusively intended for heating water in storage water heaters and heat exchangers.

Installation

1. Drain all water from the cylinder.
2. Unscrew the 1½" cork/plug.
3. Install the immersion heater using a wrench.
4. Refill the cylinder with water.
5. Check for leaks in the threaded connection.

For GRW-1.4/230; GRW-2.0/230; GRW-3.0/230: Connect the immersion heater to a socket outlet with an earth contact (PE).

For GRW-3.0/400; GRW-4.5/400; GRW-6.0/400: Electrical connection must be performed by a licensed electrician. Ensure a minimum distance of 2 mm between the sensor tube and the heating element. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by incorrect installation.

Operation

The immersion heater is equipped with a thermostat and a thermoswitch for overheating protection. If the thermal switch is activated:

• Disconnect the heater from the mains.
• Cool the cylinder down.
• Check the cause of overheating.

For GRW-1.4/230; GRW-2.0/230; GRW-3.0/230 (Fig. 1): Remove the control knob, then push the switch button through the hole indicated by an arrow.

For GRW-3.0/400; GRW-4.5/400; GRW-6.0/400 (Fig. 2): Using a screwdriver, push the thermal fuse located in the hole next to the control knob. Then, reconnect the heater to the mains.

Improper Use Warnings

• Do not turn on the power unless the unit is fully immersed in water.
• Do not clean the unit with strong cleaning agents.
• Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself.
• The unit must be immersed in water only and cannot operate in the air.
• Do not use the heater in stainless steel tanks.
• Do not install the unit in devices with another heat source exceeding 80°C.
• If using another heat source (e.g., coal-fired furnace), check the unit's functionality after each heating season. In case of failure, follow the steps described in the "Operation" section.

Familiarizing with these instructions ensures long life and reliable operation. Kospel Sp. z o.o. may make minor changes to the appliance that do not affect its main features.
