- Re-attach the unit's cover.
- Ensure no access to live parts through the rear plate holes.
Safety Switch: Ensure the safety switch is correctly engaged. If the safety switch triggers during operation, contact service immediately. Re-engaging it and continuing to use the device may cause severe damage.
Venting
- Shut off electric supplies to the heater.
- Turn on the hot water tap to vent the installation for 15-30 seconds until water flows steadily.
- Switch on the electric supplies.
Configuration
Configuration must be performed before initial start-up with the power supply switched off.
Use the DIP switches (4-position) on the electronic board:
- P (Power Settings): Switches 1 & 2 set the rated power; Switches 3 & 4 set the heating box type.
- F (Other Settings): Switches 1, 2, 3 should remain at factory settings. Switch 4 ON blocks access to heater settings.
After power-up, the display shows software versions and the set rated power.
The heater is factory set to NORMAL mode (30-60°C). For SHOWER mode (30-55°C), contact an authorized service partner.
KDE5 Operation
The heater activates automatically when flow exceeds 2.5 l/min. The control system adjusts power based on water flow, desired temperature, and inlet water temperature.
The LCD backlight and an icon [heating icon] signal heating operation. A flickering icon indicates maximum power is insufficient for current conditions.
Standby mode activates after heating or 50 seconds of inactivity.
Blockage: A master appliance signal (NA input) displays "EXT BLOCKED".
Error Messages: Errors are indicated by an 'E' icon and message:
- ER>T INLET: Inlet sensor failure.
- ER> T MAX: Maximum temperature exceeded.
- ER> AIR 1: Air detected in heating box (equipment detection).
- ER> AIR 2: Air detected in heating box (software detection).
In case of ER> T MAX, ER> AIR 1, or ER> AIR 2, heating stops. Normal operation resumes after the fault is resolved and adequate water flow is restored.
Temperature Adjustment:
The current temperature is displayed on the LCD. Turn the knob right to increase, left to decrease. Press the knob to select stored settings (ECO, SINK, BATH).
To change stored temperature settings:
- Select the desired setting by pressing the knob.
- Press and hold the knob for approx. 3 seconds until the value flashes.
- Turn the knob to set the new value.
