Safety
- M6D allows input voltage of 7-28V. Please ensure that the power supply voltage is in line with this range. Pay attention to the positive and negative polarities of the power supply when connecting.
- Do not use this product in a hot area or near a heat source. Do not use this product in a damp, flammable, or explosive gas environment.
- Only use this product while under direct supervision. Do not leave charging batteries unattended.
- When not using this product, please unplug the input power in time.
- When using the charging function, please set the current matching with the battery. Do not set excessive current charging, so as not to damage the battery.
Product Description
The M6D is a dual-channel balanced charger product, featuring a small size, high power density, and innovative design. Its charging accuracy can be as low as 5mV.
- Charge, discharge, and balance management of LiPo, LiHV, LiFe, Lion 1-6S, NiMh 1-16S, PB 1-10S batteries.
- Charging current: Synchronous mode maximum 25A@MAX500W; Asynchronous mode maximum 15A@MAX250W.
- Discharge current: Recycle mode maximum 15A @250W *2; Normal mode maximum 3A @12W *2.
- Lithium battery cut-off voltage can be set (TVC function).
- Constant current and constant voltage output, customizable 1-28V constant voltage, 1-15A constant current.
- Can be adapted to mainstream UAV batteries, automatically activated and charged.
- Multi-language system, can arbitrarily upgrade the required language.
- USB 2.1A@5.0V output for charging mobile devices.
- The device connects to a PC like a USB drive for easy firmware upgrades. Simply copy and paste new firmware files to update.
M6D Layout
Front View:
- Display: Shows charging status, voltage, current, etc.
- Scroll wheel: Used for turning left/right and pressing OK.
- Exit key: Navigates back or exits menus.
- CH key: Switches between channels.
- Main port: For connecting the battery.
- Temp. Sensor Port: For optional temperature sensors.
- Balance port: For balance charging.
Back View:
- Input port: For connecting the power supply (DC 7-28V).
- USB Output & upgrade: For firmware updates and 5.0V/2.1A output.
- Cooling fan: Dissipates heat.
Quick Start
- Connect a 7-28V power supply or input battery to the input port on the back of the M6D.
- The display shows the boot logo and stays for 2 seconds, accompanied by a boot sound.
- After booting, the display enters the main interface.
- Short press [Exit] to switch the cursor between the left and right channels.
- Press and hold [EXIT] to start testing the internal resistance of the corresponding channel. The internal resistance will be displayed after the test.
- Scroll [Scroll Wheel] to switch pages.
- Short press [OK] to select the charging task when the channel is idle, or adjust/end work when the channel is working.
- Press and hold [OK] to enter the system setting interface when both channels are idle.
- Press [Exit] to end modification or return to the previous interface.
Key Function Operations:
- Short press [Scroll Wheel] once: Confirm key function.
- Press and hold [Scroll Wheel] for 2 seconds: Delete key function.
- If any key is operated successfully, there will be a prompt tone.
Charge and Discharge Settings
Short press [OK] on the main interface to enter the charging function. The following interface is displayed:

1. Battery Type
Scroll [Scroll Wheel], move the cursor, select the stored battery type, or create a new battery. Press [Enter] to enter the battery setting interface.
Battery Type Options: LiPo, LiHv, LiFe, Lion, NiMh.
The charger supports charging and discharging of 6 types of batteries: Lipo, LiHV, LiFe, Lion, NiMh, and PB. It also supports two modes of power supply and smart battery functionality.
Warning: Choosing the wrong battery type to charge may damage the battery, the charger, and pose a fire risk. Please choose carefully. Do not use this product to charge batteries that do not indicate the battery type.
Glossary of battery terms explanation:
- Lipo: Lithium polymer battery, nominal voltage 3.70V, fully charged 4.20V.
- LiHV: High-voltage lithium battery, nominal voltage 3.85V, fully charged 4.35V.
- LiFe: Iron-lithium battery, nominal voltage 3.30V, fully charged 3.60V.
- Lion: Lithium-ion battery, nominal voltage 3.60V, fully charged 4.10V.
- NiMh: Nickel-metal hydride battery, nominal voltage 1.20V.
- PB: Lead-acid battery, nominal voltage 2.00V.
2. Number of Cells
Move the cursor to [Battery cell Number] and press [OK] to modify the number of battery cells. The display shows options like 1S, 2S, 3S, 4S, 5S. Turn [Scroll wheel] to adjust. When set to [Auto], the charger automatically recognizes the number of connected battery cells based on voltage. Short press [OK] and [Exit] to save.
Tips:
- Over-discharging or over-charging can lead to incorrect cell number recognition; manual setting may be necessary.
- Incorrect cell number setting may result in incomplete charging or battery damage. Set carefully.
- After connecting a Lixx battery to the balance port, the number of battery cells can be identified more accurately.
3. Mode
Move the cursor to [Mode] and press [OK] to modify the working mode. Options include Charge, DisCHG, StoCHG.
Lipo, LiHV, LiFe, Lion batteries can be charged, discharged, and stored. NiMh battery can choose charge, discharge, cycle. PB battery can choose charge and discharge. Short press [OK] and [Exit] to save.
4. Discharge Mode
When discharge, storage, or cycle mode is selected, the battery setting interface will show discharge mode options. Options include 'Inter' (Internal) and 'Recycle'.
- Inter (Internal) Mode: Discharges through internal heat consumption, maximum support 3.0A@12W.
- Recycle mode: Recovers electric energy from the discharging battery to the input battery (if suitable), maximum support 15.0A@250W discharge.
5. Input MaxVoltage
When 'Recycle' mode is selected, the input MaxVol setting becomes available. If the input voltage reaches this setting during discharge, the discharge will stop.
Tip: Please set the input cut-off voltage within the safe voltage range of the power supply. Setting a high over-voltage may damage the input power battery.
6. End Voltage (TVC)
Move the cursor to [End Voltage] and press [OK] to modify the end voltage of the single battery. This is the charging cut-off voltage when charging, or discharge cut-off voltage when discharging. The range is +/- 50mV of the full voltage. Adjust in steps of 0.01V.
Tips:
- Only LiPo, LiHV, LiFe batteries can set the end voltage.
- If unfamiliar with battery characteristics, do not modify the cut-off voltage.
- The charging cut-off voltage can be set to a range of plus or minus 50mV of full voltage.
- Glossary: TVC is the English abbreviation for terminal voltage control.
7. Current Setting
Move the cursor to [Charge Current] or [Discharge Current] and press [OK] to modify the current. Rotate [Scroll Wheel] to adjust value and step (0.1A). Quickly scroll [Scroll Wheel] to increase/decrease rapidly. The charger supports up to 15.0A, or 25A in synchronous mode.
Tips:
- Set charging rate of 1-2C according to battery capacity (e.g., 2000mAh battery: 2.0-4.0A).
- Charging and discharging current are only valid in the corresponding working mode.
- For discharge mode settings, refer to the <System Settings> chapter.
8. NiMH Setting (PeakV)
When the battery type is NiMh, you can set the negative pressure value when the battery is fully charged. The range is 5mV-15mV.
Tips:
- Only NiMh battery can set negative battery voltage.
- Glossary: PeakV refers to the voltage drop of each cell when a nickel-metal hydride battery is fully charged.
9. Cycle Setting
When the battery type is NiMh and the mode is 'cycle', the interface shows cycle times and rest time settings. Move the cursor to [Cycle times] and press [OK] to set cycle times (2-12). The charger follows a discharge->charge pattern. Move the cursor to [Rest time] and press [OK] to set the interval time (2-10 minutes).
10. Power Mode Setting
When the battery type is 'Power', the settings are output voltage and maximum current. The voltage range is 1V to 28V. The maximum current range is 0.5A to 15A.
11. Smart Battery
When the battery type is 'Smart Battery', settings include drone type and maximum current. Options for drone models include Mavic2, MavicS, Phantom, Inspire. Max Current range is 0.5A to 15A.
Synchronous Mode
When synchronization is enabled in settings, the M6D allows two channels to charge the same battery with a total current of 25A. The diagram shows the charger connected to a battery with multiple leads.
Charge and Discharge Work
When charging and discharging starts, the charger enters the working interface. Rotate the [Scroll wheel] to switch between status information and internal resistance voltage value. Short press [OK] to dynamically set working current or stop working.
To end charge/discharge work, short press [OK], move cursor to [Stop working], short press [OK] to return to the main interface.
When charging is completed or an error occurs, a prompt box and tone will sound.
Display Content Description:
- 24.00V: Input power supply voltage.
- 9A: Input power current.
- 20.0Wh: Total power consumption of input power.
- 45.0°C: Charger internal temperature.
- V: Constant pressure sign.
- F: Constant current sign.
- C: Current limit sign.
- P: Power.
- I: Input overcurrent.
- C: Maximum current.
- A: Activate charging.
- F: Main port is full voltage or a single chip is full voltage.
Second Channel Information:
- 25.20V: Second channel main port voltage.
- 10.00A: Second channel main port current.
- 060:59: Second channel working time.
- 1888mAh: Cumulative capacity of the second channel.
- 1 4.202V: 1st battery voltage.
- 4.200V: 4th battery voltage (this cell is in balance management).
- -.--V: No battery connected.
Scroll [Scroll Wheel] to switch to the second column for internal resistance information and the third column for the information bar.
Information Bar Example:
- Charge done: Indicates the current charging status.
- Lipo 6S: The current rechargeable battery type and battery number.
- 4.20V/2.00A: Current battery end voltage and charging current.
Tips:
- When charging/discharging, supervise the process to handle abnormalities promptly. Do not leave batteries unattended.
- When charging/discharging lithium batteries, connecting only to the main port will not perform balance management. Connecting the balance lead is recommended and will automatically begin balance management.
- After charging is completed, unplug the battery and connect a new one. The device will automatically continue charging/discharging per the set mode (if continuous work mode is selected). If set to a fixed number of cells, ensure new batteries have the same cells and capacity. If set to auto-detect cells, verify consistency with the actual battery.
System Settings
After long-pressing [OK] on the main interface when both channels are idle, you can enter the system setting interface.
Setup Menu:
- Input power set. (P1): Configure power supply settings. Long press to select power supply 1, 2, or 3. Short press to expand settings.
- Charging security set.: Configure safety settings.
- Sync... mode: Set to ON/OFF.
- Continuous work: Set to ON/OFF.
- Work completed: Set to stop or trickle charge.
- Backlight: Set brightness level (1-10).
- Buzzer: Set buzzer tone (off or levels).
- Language: Select system display language (English, Chinese, etc.).
- Default: Restore all settings to factory defaults.
Input Power Settings Details:
- Power type: Battery or adapter (PSU).
- Max power: Maximum power absorbed from the input port (e.g., 560W).
- Max current: Maximum current drawn from the input port (e.g., 30.0A).
- Voltage range: Allowable input voltage range (e.g., 7.0-28.0V).
Charging Security Set. Details:
- Safe Inter. Temp.: Temperature above which the device stops output (e.g., 80°C).
- Safe Exter. Temp.: Temperature detected by external sensor above which the device stops output (e.g., 60°C).
- Safe time: Maximum continuous charge/discharge time before stopping (e.g., 200Min).
- Safe capacity: Maximum continuous charge/discharge capacity before stopping (e.g., 30Ah).
Synchronization Mode:
Can be set to ON/OFF. When ON, two channels work synchronously to support more power.
Continuous Work:
When selected, the charger automatically continues the same charging settings on the next connected battery. Ensure the next battery has the same settings as the previous one.
Work Completed:
Determines whether to stop or trickle charge after charging.
Backlight:
Sets the display backlight brightness level from 1 to 10.
Buzzer:
Sets the tone of the buzzer.
Language:
Sets the system display language (e.g., English, Chinese).
Default:
Restores all settings to factory defaults.
Other Functions
- Firmware Upgrade: Connect the M6D to a computer via USB. The computer recognizes it as a USB disk named 'Toolkit'. Download the 'app.upg' file from the official website, copy and paste it to the USB disk to overwrite existing files and upgrade the firmware.
- USB 5.0V Output: In addition to firmware upgrades, the USB interface can output 2.0A to charge mobile devices.
- Automatically Continue to Charge and Discharge: When a battery is fully charged, unplug it, wait 2 seconds, and connect the next battery. The device will automatically continue charging/discharging. This function can be started/stopped via the menu (Continuous work mode).
- Fan Level: When internal temperature exceeds 45°C, the fan operates at half-speed for reduced noise. When it exceeds 53°C, the fan operates at full speed for enhanced heat dissipation.
- Manual Voltage Calibration: In shutdown state, press and hold [Scroll Wheel], connect power supply. The system enters manual calibration. Measure battery voltage with a voltmeter, move cursor to the corresponding voltage value, and adjust to match the voltmeter reading. After calibration, save the settings.
- Fully Charged: When a lithium battery is charged, it prompts "Fast charging has ended". If the battery is not removed, constant voltage trickle charging will be performed automatically to ensure the battery is more fully charged.
