Precautions Before Using Tapo Devices
Failure to follow these precautions may result in the product not functioning properly.
- Your Tapo device must be connected to your home router.
- Connect to a router that allows you to change the Wi-Fi name and password.
- If you live in an apartment, the default router installed on the ceiling may not be usable.
- Public Wi-Fi networks in cafes or commercial areas are not supported.
- For wired hubs, connection to a carrier modem (device without an antenna) is not supported.
- If you replace the connected router or change the Wi-Fi name and password, you must reset the device and reinstall it.
- If you move the Tapo device to a different location after installation, you must also reset the device and reinstall it.
- Tapo devices will not function properly in locations without internet access.
- The Tapo H110 Hub uses IR (Infrared) signals.
- It can only control devices that operate with infrared remotes; it does not support RF wireless frequency communication.
- If the hub is not functioning correctly, first check the LED status.
- Refer to the respective product website for LED status explanations.
- If you are unsure about the problem, try unplugging the power for a moment and then plugging it back in to see if it operates normally.
Hub Reset Method
- Turn on the hub's power.
- Press and hold the oval button on the side of the hub.
- Check if the LED blinks rapidly in amber and white. (Do not unplug the power during this process.)
Setting Up Your Tapo H110 Hub
- Connect the hub to a Type-C cable.
- Download and install the Tapo app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.

- Follow the app's instructions to connect the hub to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure you select a 2.4GHz network as Tapo devices typically do not support 5GHz networks.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. It is recommended to use a Wi-Fi network with a password for security.
- Name your hub (e.g., "Living Room Hub").
- Assign an icon to your hub.

- If the device does not respond, you may need to try a different remote or ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the hub.
- You can also create custom remotes if your specific remote is not found.
Creating Smart Actions
- Navigate to the "Smart" tab in the Tapo app.
- Tap on "Add Automation".
- Set the conditions for the automation (e.g., time of day, sensor triggers).

- Save the automation. You can toggle it on or off as needed.
