Installation Instructions
Bracket Orientation / Location

This document features an image of the Rough Country BA2 Step running boards, designed for the 2009-2014 Ford F-150 Crew Cab. The steps are black with a textured, non-slip surface and a distinctive chevron pattern.
Step 1: Preparation
Before beginning installation, locate driver side brackets as shown in the bracket orientation illustration.
Step 2: Install Front Driver Side Clip Nuts
On the driver side front location, install the supplied clip nuts as shown in Photo 1. This involves inserting clip nuts into designated holes on the vehicle frame.

Step 3: Install Driver Side Front Bracket
Install the driver side front bracket as shown in Photo 2. Use the supplied 8mm x 30mm Bolts, lock washers, and larger OD flat washers on the clip nuts. For the lower rocker attachment, use 8mm x 30mm bolts, large OD flat washers, and 8mm lock nuts.

Step 4: Install Center Driver Side Clip Nut
Install the supplied clip nut as shown in Photo 3 for the center bracket location.

Step 5: Install Driver Side Center Bracket
Install the center bracket to the clip nut using the supplied 8mm x 30mm bolts, lock washers, and larger OD flat washers. See Photo 4. Install the bracket to the lower rocker using the 8mm x 30mm bolts, larger OD flat washers, and lock nuts.

Step 6: Install Driver Side Rear Bracket
Install supplied clip nuts for the rear bracket and install the bracket as shown in Photo 5. Use 8mm x 30mm bolts, lock washers, and large OD flat washers for the clip nuts. For the lower rocker, use 8mm x 30mm bolts, large OD flat washers, and 8mm lock nuts.

Step 7: Position Steps and Insert Nut Plates
Do not fully tighten the hardware at this time. Position the steps on the brackets and insert the nut plate in the steps as shown in Photo 6.

Step 8: Secure Steps to Brackets
Secure the step to the brackets with the supplied 8mm lock nuts & small OD flat washers. See Photo 7.

Step 9: Final Tightening
After all brackets have been installed, tighten all hardware using a 13mm wrench.

Step 10: Repeat for Passenger Side
Proceed to the passenger side and repeat the entire installation process.
Step 11: Periodic Checks
Periodically check hardware to ensure it is tight.
