- Use this electrical appliance as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and could have a detrimental effect on the durability of the appliance and or the safety of the user.
- Never leave this appliance unattended whilst in use.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table, or come into contact with a hot surface.
- If abnormal noise, smell, smoke or any other failure is discovered during operation, turn off the product and unplug the power plug. Then contact the service centre for repair.
- This appliance is not intended for the use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge. They should be given appropriate supervision and instructions to use the equipment by a person responsible for their safety.
- The appliance is not intended for medical usage; it is only intended for indoor household use.
- Do not cover or trap the controller under the pillow, mattress or blanket. Always check that the blanket and lead are not trapped. Do not tuck the blanket under the mattress.
- Do not insert pins or sharp objects into the blanket.
- Unplug the electrical power cord when the blanket is not in use.
- Do not use a hot water bottle while using the blanket.
- Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking.
- Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel. Improper repairs may place the user and/or equipment at serious risk.
- Do not operate this appliance with a damaged plug, or cord, after a malfunction, or after being dropped or damaged in any way. If the product is damaged or defective, please contact cservice@oypla.com.
- The blanket should not be used by people that are insensitive to heat.
- Do not use the appliance on an adjustable bed, sofa beds or inflatable beds.
- Use the attached support ties to secure the product to the mattress.
- Only operate with the supplied lead and controller.
- Do not turn the blanket on when it is folded or creased.
- Do not use the power or the control with wet hands to prevent an electric shock. Do not use when wet or around liquids including bathtubs and showers.
Fitting Instructions
- Unfold the blanket and spread it out on the bed above your mattress.
- Align the blanket, so that the socket for the lead and controller are at the foot of the bed.
- Use the support ties to secure the product to the mattress.
- Ensure that your electric blanket is positioned correctly.
- Once the blanket is secure, connect the controller to the mattress.
- Place your bed sheet over the electric blanket.
Support Tie Diagram Description: The diagram shows a mattress outline with points A1, A2, A3, A4 along one long edge and B1, B2, B3, B4 along the opposite long edge. The instruction indicates to connect support ties from A1 to B1, A2 to B2, A3 to B3, and A4 to B4 by passing them underneath the mattress and tying them securely.
Operating Instructions
The below information is designed to help you with the operation of your Oypla product. If the product is damaged, defective or you require more information, please contact our dedicated team at cservice@oypla.com.
- Once the blanket has been securely fitted to the bed, plug the power lead into the closest socket at the foot end. Use an extension lead where necessary to ensure the power cord is not stretched and cannot be tripped over.
- This product is designed to pre-heat your bed to the desired temperature using the temperature control settings on the supplied controller. The numbers on the controller represent the heat settings.
- Move the heat setting on the controller to the desired heat setting in order to pre-heat your bed.
- The blanket will start to heat after a few minutes providing it is covered with a duvet or blanket.
- Allow 15-20 minutes for the blanket to begin warming up and approximately 60-90 minutes for the blanket to reach the maximum temperature. This time will vary depending on the temperature of the room, the type of bedding used and the thickness of the covering blanket or duvet.
- Note: If using the blanket all night, use it only on setting 1. This will provide a safe and comfortable temperature for all-night use.
Controller Settings:
- 0 = OFF
- 1 = LOW HEAT
- 2 = MEDIUM HEAT
- 3 = MAX. HEAT
Cleaning & Care
Please familiarise yourself with the below information before cleaning your Oypla product. Oypla.com are not responsible for any product damage as a result of incorrectly cleaning and/or maintaining the product.
- Note: The blanket can be washed but never dry cleaned.
- When hand washing, use a mild washing powder or detergent and warm water. Soak for 5 minutes and gently wash and rinse thoroughly in clean water.
- It is recommended to air-dry the blanket.
- Always ensure the blanket is 100% dry and has returned to its original size before use.
- Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs or if the appliance has been misused, return it to the retailer prior to any further use.
- Always disconnect the controller and the power lead from the blanket before washing.
- For machine washing, wash at a gentle cycle at a maximum of 40°C.
- Do not pinch the wired areas of the blanket as this will damage the internal circuit.
- Never wring the blanket.
- During use, checks should be regularly carried out to ensure the electric blanket is levelled, fitted firmly and not folded or rolled.
- The heating wire in the electric blanket should be spaced evenly and smoothly with no crossing, and no folds between wires.
