Where can I download the Nu Skin VERA app?
For iOS users: Download the VERA app from the App Store. You can also scan the QR code provided in the original document.
For Android users: Download the VERA app from Google Play. You can also scan the QR code provided in the original document.
How do I create a Nu Skin account?
- On the VERA welcome screen, select the 'Sign Up' option.
- Enter the ID of the Brand Affiliate who referred you to VERA, or tap the link "I do not have a sponsoring Brand Affiliate ID" if no one referred you.
- Fill out the form and click submit.
- After submitting the form, you will be prompted to log in with your username and password.
Why do I need to log in before accessing my connected device?
Features such as usage tracking and personalized skincare routines depend on associating data with your login information. Additionally, updating your device's firmware requires a user login.
How do I take a selfie with the VERA app?
Go to the Selfie Timeline either from the homepage or from the 'My Profile' page. Follow the guidelines to capture the best selfie to track your skin's progress over time.
How do I compare two selfies in the VERA app to see progress?
- In the 'Selfie Timeline' section, select the option to Compare Selfies.
- Choose the selfie you wish to compare and tap Analyze Selfies.
Pairing and Connection
How do I pair my ageLOC LumiSpa iO device with the Nu Skin VERA app?
- Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your phone, and your LumiSpa iO is OFF.
- Open the Nu Skin VERA app (if you don't have VERA, download it now, following step 1).
- Log in with your Nu Skin account.
- Tap on the devices in the navigation bar.
- Tap 'Pair new device'.
- Accept the terms and conditions and tap 'Continue'.
- Tap 'Let's get started'.
- Double-tap the power button to turn on the LumiSpa iO.
- Tap 'Connect' in the app.
- Then select your LumiSpa iO device to start the pairing sequence.
- If pairing is successful, you will see the Success screen.
- If pairing fails, the Failed screen will appear; try pairing again.
- Once paired, your LumiSpa iO device's firmware will update automatically. Your LumiSpa iO must be charging during this process to complete the update.
What should I do if my mobile device still cannot pair after following all pairing steps?
- Ensure you have the latest version of VERA installed on your phone, your LumiSpa iO is charged and turned on, and VERA is open. Do not close VERA during the pairing process.
- Check your phone's Bluetooth settings and 'forget' it if you see a LumiSpa listed.
- Perform a Bluetooth reset on your LumiSpa iO by placing the device on the charger and pressing the power button for 5 seconds. You will see a quick blue light flash when the reset is complete.
- Try pairing again.
- Repeat step 2 if it failed.
- Perform a factory reset by placing the device on the charger and pressing the power button for 10 seconds. You will see a quick yellow light flash when the reset is complete.
- Try pairing again.
What should I do if pairing my phone with VERA fails?
If all these steps fail, please refer to the user manual for further reset and service instructions.
What does a Bluetooth reset do?
A Bluetooth reset will "forget" all Bluetooth connections on your LumiSpa iO. This is done by connecting the charger to the device and holding the power button down for 5 seconds. Your device will vibrate, and the LED lights will flash blue when the reset is complete.

What does a factory reset do?
A factory reset deletes all Bluetooth connections, user data*, and custom skincare routines from your LumiSpa iO. This is done by connecting the charger to the device and holding the power button down for 10 seconds. Your device will vibrate, and the LED lights will flash yellow when the factory reset is complete.
*Some user data, such as diagnostic logs for warranty purposes, remains on the device after a factory reset.
How do I know my LumiSpa iO is connected to VERA?
After pairing your device, you will see a card with "LumiSpa iO-XXXX" on the device's home screen. This indicates whether your LumiSpa iO is connected (on), charging (charger connected), or in standby mode (zzz). Once your Lumi iO is paired in VERA, you can access all connected features such as personalized skincare routines, usage tracking, silicone head replacement reminders, and more.
Can I connect my phone with more than one LumiSpa iO?
Yes. There is no limit to the number of LumiSpa iO devices you can connect to your phone. Note: Usage is tied to the account, not the individual LumiSpa iO. This means you will see the combined usage on the user tracker if more than one device is paired to one account.
Can I connect my LumiSpa iO to more than one phone?
No. Because the LumiSpa iO contains personal and customized data, you can only connect it to one phone with one account. If you need to pair it with another phone using the same account, you must perform a Bluetooth reset by connecting the charger to the device and pressing the power button for 5 seconds. Your device will vibrate, and the LED lights will flash blue when the reset is complete.

I have a new phone, what can I do to ensure I keep all my data on the app and transfer it to my new phone?
Your LumiSpa iO data is linked to your user account. Simply log in with your Nu Skin account, and your data will be available on your new phone.
Note that selfies in the Selfie Timeline are saved only on the current phone. There is currently no way to do this within the VERA app, but you can do it manually, similar to how you normally transfer your pictures from an old phone to a new one.
I want to give my phone to a friend/family member, how can I delete my data from the app?
Log out of your account in VERA by going to the Account Settings section and selecting Log Out.
Device Differentiation and Skincare Routines
We just bought multiple LumiSpa iO devices for our family, and we want to ensure we pair the correct device with the correct mobile phone. How can we differentiate between devices during pairing?
It is recommended to turn on one LumiSpa iO at a time and then pair. If you see multiple LumiSpa iO devices listed, remove the silicone head and find the serial number on the device. It will state SN:XXXXXXXX. The last 4 digits of the serial number correspond to what is displayed in VERA on the device selection page.
How can I find synchronized skincare routines in my app?
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the Devices page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- The top 2 routines in the 'My Routines' tab are the standard routines on the device. One uses a cleansing head and one for the Accent Head. Both these routines come pre-loaded on your LumiSpa iO.
- To see what Nu Skin has provided, tap 'Discover'.
Why doesn't my LumiSpa iO do anything when I try to start a routine from the app?
Is your LumiSpa iO turned on and connected to VERA? Your device must be turned on and connected to VERA to start a routine from the app. If it is not, double-tap the power button to turn it on.
Is the charger connected to your LumiSpa iO? Routines cannot be started when the charger is connected to the device.
Can I activate a synchronized skincare routine directly from the app?
Yes, you can activate a Synchronized Skincare Routine by doing the following:
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the 'Devices' page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- Select the routine you wish to activate.
- Tap 'Start Session'.
How can I create my own custom skincare routine and save it in my app?
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the 'Devices' page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- Tap 'Create New Routine'.
- Choose an image for your custom routine.
- Enter a name for your custom routine.
- Select the silicone head you wish to use.
- Select treatment areas and the time you want to spend on each area.
- Once you have selected your treatment areas, tap 'Save Routine'.
- Your new routine will be available from 'My Routines'.
How many custom routines can I create?
There is currently no limit to the number of custom skincare routines you can create and save in VERA. However, you can only save 3 custom routines on your LumiSpa iO device.
How can I activate my custom skincare routine from my app?
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the 'Devices' page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- Select the custom routine you wish to activate.
- Tap 'Start Session'.
How can I activate a custom skincare routine directly from my LumiSpa iO device?
This can only be done if your skincare routine has been saved or added to the device. Please follow these steps to do so:
- Ensure you have already saved your custom skincare routine to 'My Routine'.
- Select and tap the custom skincare routine you wish to add to your device – you will see an overview of your custom routine and tap the 'Add to Device' button.
- Select the color you want for this custom routine and tap 'Next'.
- You will see your selected custom routine added to the list 'Saved Device LumiSpa iO Routines'.
- Tap 'Update Settings' to complete the process of adding your selected custom routine to your device.
- Now, to activate the skincare routine from your Lumi iO device, double-tap the power button on your LumiSpa iO. You will first see the white LED lights. This puts your device into routine selection mode.
- Double-tap the power button to cycle between standard and custom skincare routines.
- Single-tap the power button when you land on the color/custom skincare routine you wish to activate.
How can I know if a skincare routine is added/saved to my device?
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the 'Devices' page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- In the 'My Routine' section, you can see a device icon next to the names of available skincare routines if they are added or saved to the device.
How can I edit my custom skincare routine?
- Select your paired LumiSpa iO from the 'Devices' page.
- Tap the 'Explore LumiSpa Routines' option.
- Select the custom routine you wish to edit.
- Tap the pencil icon at the top right of the page.
- Make adjustments and save.
Do I need to save my custom skincare routine to my phone again after editing it?
No, your updated routine includes all edits you make after saving.
How many custom routines can I save on my LumiSpa device?
You can save 3 custom skincare routines on your LumiSpa iO.
How many routines can be followed?
120 routines can be saved on the device. Each time the user connects their LumiSpa iO to VERA, these routines are sent to the cloud to be used by the app.

How do I update the firmware on my LumiSpa iO?
When you first pair your LumiSpa iO with VERA, it will perform an automatic check for firmware updates and install them if newer firmware is available. Further firmware updates can be accessed via 'Device Settings'.
How do I know if my silicone head needs replacing?
When your device is connected to VERA, you will see a colored badge under 'Added Head'. When the badge says 'Replace Now', it is time to replace your silicone head.
Is the silicone head reminder based on the number of routines?
No, the head's lifespan is based on the actual time, in minutes, that you have used your LumiSpa iO.
- Good: 0-324 minutes
- Replace Soon: 325-374 minutes
- Replace Now: 375+ minutes
How can I reorder a silicone head or an Activating Cleanser from the app?
Go to the 'Products' section in VERA to find the product you wish to reorder.
How can I track my usage to better understand my consumption and correct any misuse?
Check the 'See Performance' area for your LumiSpa iO. It will show you when you have used your device – even without the app – and any warnings you have received during your active routine.
When can I get a prize or badge based on my usage?
Badges are awarded for reaching different usage milestones. Check the 'Prizes' area in the 'Performance' section for an overview of badges and their relevant milestones.
