This document provides comprehensive instructions for installing, configuring, and using the Danalock V3 BT HK Scandi smart lock, compatible with Apple HomeKit.
Product Overview
The Danalock V3 BT HK Scandi is an electronic doorknob with a wireless interface, designed for indoor use on access doors. It offers smart home integration via Bluetooth and is compatible with Apple HomeKit.

Installation Guide
Before starting, gather the necessary tools: a Phillips head screwdriver and pliers. You will also need the Danalock unit and its mounting components.
Step 1: Prepare the Door
Ensure the door's existing lock mechanism is in place. The Danalock V3 is designed to fit over standard door locks.
Step 2: Install the Mounting Plate
Attach the circular mounting plate to the inside of the door, aligning it with the screw holes of the existing lock mechanism. Secure it with screws.

Step 3: Prepare the Spindle
Measure the thickness of your door. The Danalock can accommodate doors up to 35 mm thick. If the existing spindle is too long, it may need to be cut to size using pliers.

Step 4: Attach the Danalock Unit
Insert the Danalock unit onto the door's lock mechanism, ensuring the spindle passes through the central opening. You should hear a "Click!" as it engages.

Step 5: Secure the Danalock
Align the Danalock unit and secure it in place. The unit will click into position.

Step 6: Final Assembly
Attach the outer casing of the Danalock to complete the installation.

Setting up with Apple HomeKit

Calibrating the Lock
The Danalock requires calibration for proper function. This can be done automatically or manually using the click-commands described on page 19.
Dismounting
To dismount the Danalock, follow the reverse procedure of installation. A small button on the unit needs to be pressed to release it.

LED Signals
The Danalock uses LED indicators to show its status:

Configuring with Click-Commands
You can configure the Danalock V3 using click-commands via the button located in the small hole on the top of the lock. The LED color changes to indicate the selected setting. Wait 5 seconds after reaching a setting for the Danalock to react. If you make a mistake, stop clicking and wait 5 seconds; the LED will flash red to indicate a timeout.
Manual Click Commands
- Manual calibration: Clicks: 2, LED: Yellow. Works on: All. Turn the Danalock to the desired unlocked position. Start calibration with a click command. Wait for the yellow LED blink. Turn the Danalock to the desired locked position while the LED blinks, then click once to save.
- Auto calibration: Clicks: 3, LED: White. Works on: All. Turn the Danalock to the unlocked position and lift the handle if needed. Start auto calibration with a click command. The Danalock will blink white during calibration.
- Hold back latch: Clicks: 4, LED: Blue. Works on: V3 HomeKit. Toggles between 3 settings: Off, short wait, and long wait.
- Off: Red blink, disables hold back latch.
- Short wait: Short green blinks, holds latch for 5 seconds.
- Long wait: One long green blink, holds latch for 15 seconds.
- Auto lock timer: Clicks: 5, LED: Purple. Works on: V3 HomeKit. Toggles between 3 settings: Off, short wait, and long wait.
- Off: Red blink, disables auto locking.
- Short wait: Short green blinks, locks after 15 seconds.
- Long wait: One long green blink, locks after 60 seconds.
- End to end unlock: Clicks: 6, LED: Cyan. Works on: V3 HomeKit. Toggles between on/off.
- Turning off: One red blink.
- Turning on: One green blink.
- Twist assist: Clicks: 8, LED: Blue/Green. Works on: V3 HomeKit. Toggles between on/off.
- Turning off: One red blink.
- Turning on: One green blink.
- Reset user settings: Clicks: 10, LED: Red. Works on: All. This action resets all user settings. The Danalock responds by blinking red.
Firmware Upgrade
To install the latest firmware, download the Danalock app from the App Store and log in as a "HomeKit only" user. Press the download icon on the app's front page to start the process. Keep your phone near the Danalock during the entire firmware upgrade.

Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory automatically and away from home requires an Apple TV with tvOS 10.0 or later or an iPad with iOS 9.0 or later set up as a home hub. HomeKit technology provides advanced security with end-to-end encryption and authentication.

Terms of Use
The Danalock V3 is for indoor use only. Use only Danalock-approved accessories. Do not connect incompatible products or operate where wireless radio communication is prohibited (e.g., hospitals, near blasting sites).
Prohibited Operation Areas
Do not operate the Danalock V3 where wireless radio communication is prohibited or may cause interference or danger, as it cannot be turned off after installation.
Electromagnetic Fields and Exposure
The Danalock V3 is a low-power radio transmitter/receiver. It wakes periodically to send/receive RF signals. It is not intended for handheld use or to be worn on the body. Maintain a minimum separation of 8 inches (20 cm) from the body.
Pacemakers and Medical Devices
If using other personal medical devices nearby, consult their manufacturers regarding shielding from RF energy.
Interference
The Danalock V3 may encounter electrical interference. It is tested and certified to international standards for performance in the presence of electromagnetic interference and electrostatic discharge.

Use only approved accessories and CR17345 primary Lithium batteries (IEC/EN 60086-4: 2015 or 2019). Do not use rechargeable batteries. Refer to danalock.com/legal/lithium-batteries/ for approved batteries. Incorrect battery use may risk explosion or fire. Do not exceed specified temperature ranges. Dispose of used batteries according to instructions.
Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
Do not install the Danalock in potentially explosive atmospheres. Sparks in such areas can cause explosions or fires.
Battery Safety Information
- Dispose of used batteries according to provided instructions.
- Do not drop, puncture, disassemble, mutilate, or incinerate batteries.
- Avoid short-circuiting battery terminals with metal objects. Do not carry loose batteries with metal items.
- Do not stack batteries from different cases.
- Do not heat batteries to rejuvenate them.
- Do not exceed specified temperature ranges or environmental conditions.
- Never use the Danalock without the battery cover installed.
- Do not mix batteries from different vendors.
- Do not mix new and used batteries.
Disclaimer
Replace all 4 batteries simultaneously using standard CR123 lithium batteries. Failure to do so may cause batteries to overheat and explode. Danalock is not responsible for inaccurate battery replacement.
Disposal of Waste Batteries (EU)
The [Crossed-out bin symbol] indicates batteries should not be mixed with unsorted waste. Collect separately for recycling. Chemical symbols (Hg, Cd, Pb) indicate hazardous substances.

Warranty and Service
Warranty
Danalock ApS offers a limited manufacturer warranty covering manufacturing faults. It does not cover misuse, incorrect installation, or damage from poor maintenance. The invoice serves as proof of warranty.
Qualified Service
The Danalock V3 has no user-serviceable parts, except for batteries. Non-functioning units must be returned to an authorized service center.
