  4. The unit returns to standby mode.

Video Mode and Termination Setup

The video mode and impedance are set using DIP switches on the rear of the videophone.

Video Mode SW2

Switches 1 and 2 set the video mode:

Switches 1,2 Mode
ON | ON Coax
OFF | OFF Balanced

Switches 3 and 4 set the 75 OHM VIDEO TERMINATION:

Switches 3,4 Termination
ON | ON Enabled
OFF | OFF Disabled

For parallel installations without a video splitter, set switches 3 and 4 to OFF on all videomonitors except the last one (end of line).

Videomonitor/Intercom Address, Video Mode, and Termination Setup DSW1

The 8-way dip switch (DSW1) configures the videophone's address in binary (PHONE ID). Each switch corresponds to a bit with a decimal weight (1 to 128). For example, to set address 37, switches 1, 3, and 6 should be ON (1 + 4 + 32 = 37).

Switches Decimal Weight Address

Fig. 2: Illustrates positioning the base on the wall at approximately 135cm from the finished floor, aligning with fixing holes "A". Wires "D" should be fed through the large hole "E" (Fig. 3).

Fig. 3: Details making holes "A", inserting wall plugs "B", and fixing the base with screws "C". If using a flush mounting box 503, fix the base through holes "F" using screws "C". The box should be embedded vertically at approximately 140cm from the floor.

Fig. 4: Shows connecting wires to removable terminals according to the installation diagram.

Fig. 5: Illustrates connecting terminal blocks to the electronics within the cover. Testing the system before closing is recommended. Adjustments for contrast and hue trimmers require the videophone to be open; use the 'Camera Recall' button to activate the display for viewing changes. It is advisable to hold the cover during testing.

Fig. 6: Describes closing the unit by hooking the right part first, then the left part until a click is heard, after all tests and adjustments are complete.

Wiring Diagrams

The document includes detailed wiring diagrams illustrating various system configurations. These diagrams show the connection of multiple Art. 6778 videophones, power supplies (e.g., Art. 893N1, Art. 323/12), door stations (e.g., Art. 316N, Art. 316C), and other accessories. They specify connection points, dip switch settings for addressing, and cable types for both Coax and Balanced systems. Maximum cable lengths are indicated, such as MAX 40mt for some connections and MAX 400mt for others.
