Important Safety Information

General Warnings

CAUTION: This is an automatically operated device. Disconnect from the power supply before servicing to reduce the risk of injury.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.

Pay attention to:

  • The need for frequent cleaning of all grease from the fan and all other grease-laden surfaces.
  • The need for frequent removal and cleaning of any filter unit provided.
  • The need to exercise care when using cleaning agents or detergents.

WARNING: To provide protection against electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlets only. For Residential Use Only.

Grounding Instructions

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.

WARNING: Improper grounding can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install an outlet near the appliance.

Range Top Grease Fire Prevention

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.

To reduce the risk of a range top grease fire:

  • Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.
  • Always turn the hood ON when cooking at high heat or when flambeing food (e.g., Crêpes Suzette, Cherries Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef Flambé).
  • Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on the fan or filter.
  • Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface element.

To reduce the risk of injury to persons in the event of a range top grease fire:

  • Smother flames with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. Be careful to prevent burns. If the flames do not go out immediately, evacuate and call the fire department.
  • Never pick up a flaming pan – you may be burned.
  • Do not use water, including wet dishcloths or towels – a violent steam explosion will result.
  • Use an extinguisher ONLY if: 1) You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher and know how to operate it. 2) The fire is small and contained. 3) The fire department is being called. 4) You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

Installation Guidelines

This cooker hood is suitable for use in a household cooking area.

The minimum distance between the supporting surface of the cooking hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 26 inches (65 cm) with a gas hob. If the mounting instructions of the gas hob indicate a wider distance, respect it.

The hood must not be superimposed on stoves with an upper radiating plate.

Respect all air discharge regulations. The air must not be discharged into a pipe used for exhaust fumes from gas-fed or fuel-fed equipment (this does not apply to filtering hoods).

The room must be adequately ventilated when the hood is used together with other gas or fuel equipment.

Condensation may occur when the hood is placed above an induction hob; this is a normal phenomenon.

For easier access, it is advisable to move any furniture under the installation area.

The hood is equipped with necessary fastenings suitable for most surfaces. Verify that the installation surface is strong. Installation must be carried out by qualified installers according to present regulations.

Ventilation Options:

  • Sizes 24in - 30in - 36in - 40in can vent out of the top or the back. Choose the vent option before installation. To change the vent position, disconnect the blower power, disassemble the blower and metal cover, and switch to the desired position (refer to Fig. 6). Then reconnect the power cord.
  • Sizes 48in - 60in can vent out of the top ONLY.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Turn the main switch of the system to "off".
  2. Prepare the furniture for installation, verifying the hole position (refer to Fig. 4 and Fig. 4.1).
  3. Remove the metal filters (refer to Fig. 2) to access the interior.
  4. The hood can be fixed directly on the cabinet or on the wall (refer to Fig. 5). Place the hood under the cabinet or on the wall.
  5. Fix it from the inside onto the furniture, or on the wall, with the supplied screws (A). Secure the hood definitively with the safety screws (A).
  6. Connect the hood electrically.
  7. Reinstall the metal filters.

Visual Descriptions of Diagrams:

  • Fig. 1A: Illustrates the exhausting installation method, where kitchen fumes are expelled outside through a flue connected to the exhaust pipe connector.
  • Fig. 1F: Depicts the filtering installation method, where fumes pass through activated carbon filters to be purified and recycled back into the kitchen.
  • Fig. 2: Shows the process of removing the metal grease filters, typically by using a handle.
  • Fig. 3: Displays the hood's control panel, indicating buttons for illumination (TL) and blower speed selection (T1 for first speed, T2-T4 for second, third, and fourth speeds).
  • Fig. 4 & 4.1: Provide detailed dimension diagrams for different model sizes: Fig. 4 for 24in-30in-36in-40in (1 Motor) models, and Fig. 4.1 for 48in-60in (2 Motor) models, showing measurements for installation.

  • Fig. 6: Explains how to change the vent position, involving disconnecting the blower power, disassembling parts, and switching the vent outlet.

Electrical Connection

This equipment must be connected to a grounding plant.

Two types of electrical connection are possible:

  1. Using a standard plug: Connect the power cable to a mains socket that is accessible for disconnection during servicing. Ensure the plug remains accessible after installation.
  2. Fixed mains connection: Install a bipolar switch that ensures disconnection with an adequate contact opening distance, complying with overvoltage category III and installation regulations. The ground connection (yellow-green wire) must not be interrupted.

Refer to the data plate inside the hood for mains voltage and frequency ratings. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a qualified person to avoid any risk.

Operation

The hood is equipped with a multispeed blower. Use low speed under normal conditions and higher speeds for heavy build-up of fumes or odours. It is ideal to switch the hood on as soon as cooking starts and keep it on until all odours are eliminated.

Hood Controls (refer to Fig. 3):

  • TL button: Controls illumination (on/off).
  • T1 button: Switches on the hood, selects the first speed, and switches off the blower.
  • T2-T3-T4 buttons: Select the second, third, and fourth speeds of the blower.

The LED of the active key remains lit steadily. To turn the blower off when not on the first speed, press the T1 button twice.

Adjustable and Delayed Self-Switching Off

This feature causes total shutdown of lights and blower. With the hood in operation, select the desired speed, then press and hold the TL button for a few seconds until the speed LEDs (L1, L2, L3, L4) start flashing indefinitely. The auto-off setting is now active.

By pressing one of the speed keys (T1, T2, T3, T4), the delayed auto-off time can be programmed:

  • T1: 5 minutes
  • T2: 10 minutes
  • T3: 15 minutes
  • T4: 20 minutes

During automatic shut-off operation, the set speed can be changed. If the chosen switch-off time matches the set speed, the speed LED flashes; otherwise, it remains fixed.

To deactivate the delayed switch-off during operation, keep the hood running and press and hold the button corresponding to the selected delayed time.

During the auto-off function, the hood can be switched off by pressing T1 twice.

Maintenance

Always disconnect the hood from the mains before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning operation.

Grease Filters:

Metallic anti-grease filters trap fat particles and must be washed at least once a month, or when indicated by the electronic notice, with detergent in hot water or in the dishwasher. Filters may discolour after washing, which is normal and does not require replacement. Remove filters using the handle (refer to Fig. 2). Ensure filters are perfectly dry before refitting.

ATTENTION: Accumulated grease in filters can easily catch fire. Regular cleaning is extremely important.

Charcoal Filters (for filtering version):

Activated charcoal filters collect unpleasant odours. They must not be washed but replaced 2-3 times a year, depending on usage. To replace, first remove metal filters (Fig. 2). Then, rotate the charcoal filters about 90° to release them from their tabs and remove them downwards without tools. Reinstall new filters by reversing the process.

Maintenance Alerts:

  • Grease Filter Alert: Every 30 hours of operation, LEDs will light up for 30 seconds to indicate grease filter cleaning is needed. Reset the timer by pressing and holding the T4 button with the fan off.
  • Charcoal Filter Alert: Every 120 hours of operation, LEDs will light up for 30 seconds to remind of grease filter cleaning and charcoal filter replacement (if applicable). Reset the timer by pressing and holding the T4 button with the fan off.

General Cleaning:

The hood features LED lighting, offering good illumination and energy savings, with a lifespan approximately 10 times longer than traditional lights.

Replacement filters and spare parts are available through your local dealer.

Clean the hood immediately after installation and after removing the protective film to remove any glue or impurity.

Clean the hood internally and externally at least once a month. Do not let dirt gather on surfaces.

For exterior cleaning, do not use acid/basic products or abrasive sponges. Use a sponge dampened with warm water and a little neutral detergent. Rinse with a damp cloth, following the satin finish direction on the steel surface. Drying is important, especially in hard water areas.

All ordinary and extraordinary maintenance can be performed without removing the hood.
