Installation Overview
Step 1: Turn off water supply.
Locate the existing filter and remove it by turning the filter cartridge counter-clockwise a full 1/4 turn.
Step 2: Remove the filter.
To prevent water spillage on the filter tray, remove the filter by pulling it straight out.
Step 3: Prepare the filter tray.
Pull the filter tray out and empty out any water to prevent leaking from the cartridge housing. Reinstall the tray.
Step 4: Prepare the new filter.
Carefully remove the sanitary cap from the top of the new filter.
Step 5: Install the new filter.
Insert the new filter into the housing head and rotate the filter clockwise 1/4 turn or until it stops. Ensure the filter is fully installed in the refrigerator head a full 1/4 turn. Turn on the water supply. Note: Proper installation is required to activate the internal water valve. If the filter is not properly installed, you may experience slow flow or a chattering noise. If this occurs, uninstall and reinstall the filter, ensuring it is fully seated.
Step 6: Flush the system.
Run approximately 2.5 gallons (about 9.46 liters) of water from the dispenser periodically to clear the system and achieve good flow. If the water flow is slower than usual, repeat Step 5. Note: The initial flow rate may be slower than expected. Full flow rate should be restored within 24-36 hours.
Step 7: Inspect for leaks.
Inspect the filter for any noticeable leaks. If leaks are detected, please repeat Step 5.
Step 8: Reset the filter monitor light.
To reset the filter monitor light, refer to your refrigerator owner's manual for specific instructions.
Step 9: Use the replacement calendar.
Locate the included Water Filter Replacement Calendar and follow the instructions on the label to track filter replacement.
