2. Read
Please read this entire manual carefully before you set up the instrument and begin to use it. This will help you become familiar with the features of the weather station & clock to get the most benefit from it.
3. Install Batteries
Main Unit: Always install batteries into the main unit first. On the back of the unit, remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 "AA" alkaline (or lithium) batteries. Replace the cover.
Wireless Sensor: After batteries have been put into the main unit, remove the back cover of the wireless sensor. Insert 2 "AA" alkaline (or lithium) batteries. Press the "TX" button and replace the back cover of the sensor. Put the sensor aside for now. Later, in part 5, you will learn more about the wireless sensor.
NOTE: When replacing the batteries for the wireless sensor, remove the batteries from the sensor and clear the sensor's channel on the main unit by pressing and holding the CHANNEL button when the corresponding channel is displayed. Reinstall the batteries into the wireless sensor and press and release the TX button to synchronize the units.
Operating Range of Batteries: Severe cold (below -4° F/-20° C) can cause alkaline batteries to freeze and function improperly. Use lithium batteries in extremely low temperature conditions to ensure continued operation.
Low Battery Indicator: When the battery level is low for the main unit or the wireless sensor, the low battery level icons will illuminate.
4. Choose Where to Place the Main Unit and Wireless Sensor
Main Unit: Choose wall mount or table-top placement.
- Choose a location for each unit that is at least 10 feet away from other electronic devices that may interfere with the wireless signal.
- Wall mounting: Use the mounting slot on the back of the unit to hang it from one of the supplied screws.
- Table-top placement: Attach the removable table stand by inserting the two prongs into the slots at the bottom of the main unit.
Wireless Sensor: When placing the sensor, consider these things:
- Although the sensor is designed for outdoor use, placement in a protected area will prolong its life.
- Mounting: Use the mounting slot on the back of the unit to hang it from one of the supplied screws.
- The sensor must be within 100 feet (30 meters) of the main unit.
- The sensor is resistant to weather and to water. It is NOT WATERPROOF.
- Prolonged exposure to cold weather may cause damage to the LCD panel.
- Wireless sensor can be placed outdoors to observe outdoor temperatures and humidity.
5. Preview the Displays
The main unit displays indoor and outdoor temperature & humidity, month/date/day, moon phase, and alarm status. Low battery indicators are also shown. The antenna icon indicates the status of the time and date signal reception.
Wireless Sensor Display: Press the "MODE" button on the back of the wireless sensor to cycle through display options: Temperature only, Humidity only, or alternating Temperature & Humidity.

7. Main Unit Features
Radio-controlled Clock: The unit synchronizes the clock with the official time signal from the U.S. Government's National Institute of Standards and Technology. The built-in antenna receives the signal, and a microchip translates it to display the correct time and date. The synchronization process can take 24-72 hours.
Manually Setting the Time and Date:
- Press and hold the "SET" button. The year display will flash. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the year. Press "SET" to confirm.
- Follow the same procedure to set the month, date, hour, minute, 12 or 24-hour time preference, and DST (Daylight Saving Time).
NOTE: Manual settings cannot be made while the clock is attempting to synchronize. Allow synchronization to complete before making manual changes.
Time Zone: The default setting is Pacific Time. To set your time zone:
- Press and hold the "- / C/F" button for three seconds. The seconds display will be replaced by the letter for your current time zone.
- Press and release the "- / C/F" button to cycle through the time zone letters (P=Pacific, M=Mountain, C=Central, E=Eastern).
- Once your zone is displayed, it will be confirmed automatically after about 3 seconds.
Antenna Icon: The antenna icon flashes during synchronization. If it disappears, the radio signal is not available. Try moving the unit away from sources of interference like computers, televisions, or cordless phone bases.
Celsius/Fahrenheit: Press and release the "-" (minus) button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Moon Phase: The moon phase display automatically updates based on the calendar date. Ensure the date and year are programmed correctly for accurate moon phase display.
Trend Indicators: Arrow icons indicate rising, steady, or falling trends in temperature or humidity if the change is more than 1 unit within an hour.
Setting the Alarm:
- Hold "ALARM" for 3 seconds.
- Press "+" or "-" to set the hour, then press "ALARM" to confirm.
- Press "+" or "-" to set the minute, then press "ALARM" to confirm.
To view the alarm time, press the "ALARM" button. The alarm time will display for five seconds before returning to the current time.
To Turn the Alarm On and Off: Press the "+" button during normal operating mode.
To Turn off the Alarm for One Day: Press the "ALARM" button when the alarm sounds.
Snooze/Light: When the alarm sounds, press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button to activate the snooze feature (silences alarm for 5 minutes) or to activate the backlight for 5 seconds.
MIN/MAX MEMORY: Press the "MEMORY" button to view the maximum values for temperature and humidity (indoor/outdoor) for 5 seconds. Press "MEMORY" again to view the minimum values. The memory refreshes every 24 hours.
8. Multiple Wireless Sensors
The main unit supports up to three wireless sensors. Each additional sensor must be assigned a different channel number (1, 2, or 3) to differentiate their readings on the main unit's display.
Additional wireless sensors (Model # 01022) are sold separately. Contact AcuRite customer support to order.
To set up an additional sensor:
- Open the sensor by separating the front and back case.
- Install batteries (see section 3).
- Use the interior slide switch to select a channel (1, 2, or 3).
- Choose Celsius or Fahrenheit using the C/F button for the sensor display.
- Use the "MODE" button to select the display: Temperature only, Humidity only, or alternating Temperature and humidity.
- Press the "TX" button to send a signal to the base station.
- Snap the two halves of the case together firmly.
- Mount the sensor (see section 4 for placement).
