CARGOCAIRE MODEL DEW 50 MOBILE DEHUMIDIFIER
Product Overview and Specifications
Introduction
The CARGOCAIRE MODEL DEW 50 is a mobile desiccant dehumidifier designed for reliable humidity control in diverse environments. It combines advanced desiccant technology with a robust construction for long operating life.
Advantages
Munters combines state-of-the-art desiccant technology with dependability and long operating life for humidity control at virtually any temperature. Dry air protection improves readiness, reduces maintenance costs, improves diagnostics, reduces HAZMAT and increases productivity.
With dehumidification, the following problems are eliminated in thousands of military applications:
- Electronic Failures: Advanced electronics are extremely sensitive to moisture. Dehumidification eliminates moisture formation, precluding downtime and malfunction.
- Corrosion: With dehumidification, moisture that causes rust and corrosion can not condense on surfaces.
- Diagnostic "Ghosts": Moisture is the leading cause of diagnostic "ghosts." Using dehumidification protection greatly reduces their occurrence.
- Mold and Mildew: Dry air keeps surfaces moisture free and stops the problem before it can start.
Features
- Process Air: Flow rates of 30-50 scfm. Nominal moisture removal: 24 lbs/24 hour at 83°F.
- Utilities: 115V/1 Phase 60Hz. Power required: 0.74kW; reactivation heater: 0.65kW.
- Electrical Controls: Socket for humidistat plug-in provided.
- Drive System: Desiccant rotor with belt drive.
- Reactivation Utility: Energy modulation independently controls heater power to limit energy consumption.
- Built Tough: Rugged die-cast heavy aluminum casing.
- Easy to Maintain: Filters change without tools and disconnections.
Diagram: Dehumidifier Airflow
The dehumidifier operates by processing air through a desiccant wheel. Dry Air enters the unit and passes through the desiccant material, where moisture is absorbed. This dry air is then expelled as Process Air. Simultaneously, a portion of air is heated and passed through the desiccant wheel in the opposite direction to regenerate it, expelling moist air as Reactivation Air (Wet Air). A drive motor powers the desiccant rotor. The patented HoneyCombe® wheel design provides a vast surface area for the desiccant material.
Dimensions and Configurations
DEW 50 Standard Configuration
The standard DEW 50 unit includes essential dehumidification components.
DEW 50 Turnkey Configuration
With the DEW 50 turnkey option, you get a rugged, easy-to-install dehumidifier ready to provide dependable dehumidification solutions for a wide range of applications. It protects operating systems, components, and parts in storage.
Advantages of Turnkey Configuration:
- Protective Cage: (Optional) Contained in a damage-resistant steel cage, the unit bolts directly onto walls, ceilings, or floors.
- Automatic Function: Humidistat with on/off function provides automatic control of desired humidity levels and economical operation.
- Round Duct Transitions: Standard ductwork easily connects to direct dry air to areas of concern.
- Many Applications: The turnkey configuration is ready to use and easily installed in combat vehicles, ISU and ISO containers, electronic shelters, ground-based radar systems, arms rooms, and small supply spaces, or where electronics are housed or transported.
Dimensional Drawings:
Visual representations of the unit's side, front, top, and right views are provided, indicating key dimensions and port sizes (e.g., Viconics Humidistat, Process Air Inlet/Outlet, Reactivation Air Inlet/Outlet). Specific measurements are detailed in the accompanying table.
