Get Started

Charge the Battery

Note: Before first use, charge the headset in the charging case for 3 hours for optimal battery capacity and lifetime. Use only the original USB Type-C cable. Finish calls before charging.

Charging Case

Connect the USB Type-C cable to the charging case and a power source. The charging case starts charging, indicated by a blue LED light. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

3. Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device (e.g., mobile phone).

4. Search for "Philips TAT4205" on your device and tap to connect. If prompted, enter the password "0000" (4 zeros). For devices with Bluetooth 3.0 or higher, no password is required.

Use Your Headphones

Connect the Headset to Your Bluetooth Device

1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your Bluetooth device.

2. Remove both headsets from the charging case. They will power on and attempt to reconnect automatically to the last connected device. If the last device is unavailable, they will try to connect to the second-to-last device.

If no device is connected, the headset will turn off automatically after 3 minutes.

Tip: The headset can only connect to one device at a time. Ensure Bluetooth is only enabled on the desired device.

Note: If the headset fails to connect within 3 minutes, it will turn off to save battery. For some devices, manual connection via the Bluetooth menu may be required.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bluetooth headset does not turn on.

The battery level is low. Charge the headset.

I cannot pair my Bluetooth headset with my Bluetooth device.

Ensure the Bluetooth feature is enabled on your Bluetooth device before turning on the headset.

Pairing does not work.

  • Put both earpieces into the charging case.
  • Disable Bluetooth on any previously connected devices.
  • On your Bluetooth device, delete "Philips TAT4205" from the Bluetooth list.
  • Re-pair the headset as described in the "Pair the headset with your Bluetooth device at the first time" section.

How to reset pairing.

Take both headsets out of the charging case. Press the multi-function buttons on both headsets five times until the LED flashes white and blue. You will hear a "beep sound". This indicates pairing is reset. (See 'Factory reset the headset' on page 9).

The Bluetooth device cannot find the headset.

  • The headset may be connected to a previously paired device. Turn off the connected device or move it out of range.
  • Pairing may have been reset, or the headset was previously paired with another device. Re-pair the headset as described in the user manual (see 'Pair the headset with your Bluetooth device at the first time' on page 6).

My Bluetooth headset is connected to a Bluetooth stereo enabled mobile phone, but music only plays on the mobile phone speaker.

Refer to your mobile phone's user manual and select to listen to music through the headset.

The audio quality is poor and crackling noise can be heard.

  • The Bluetooth device is out of range. Reduce the distance or remove obstacles.
  • Charge your headset.

The audio quality is poor when streaming from the mobile phone is very slow, or audio streaming does not work at all.

Ensure your mobile phone supports (mono) HSP/HFP, A2DP, and is Bluetooth 4.0x (or higher) compatible (see 'Technical data' on page 10).

I hear but cannot control music on my Bluetooth device (e.g. play/pause/skip forward/backward).

Make sure the Bluetooth audio source supports AVRCP (see 'Technical data' on page 10).

The volume level of the headset is too low.

Some Bluetooth devices do not sync volume levels. Adjust the volume independently on your Bluetooth device.

I cannot connect the headset to another device, what do I do?

  • Ensure the Bluetooth function of the previous paired device is turned off.
  • Repeat the pairing procedure on your second device (see 'Pair the headset with your Bluetooth device at the first time' on page 6).

I hear sound from only one earpiece.

If you are in a call, sound from both earpieces is normal.

If listening to music and sound is only from one earpiece:

  • The other earpiece may be out of battery. Charge both earpieces fully for optimal performance.
  • The right and left earpieces may be disconnected from each other. Turn off both earpieces, place them in the charging case for 5 seconds, then remove them. This will power them on and connect them. Reconnect the headset to your Bluetooth device.
  • The headset may be connected to more than one Bluetooth device. Turn off Bluetooth on all connected devices, then turn off both earpieces. Place them in the charging case for 5 seconds, then remove them. Reconnect the headset to your Bluetooth device. Note: The headset is designed for connecting to only one Bluetooth device at a time. Ensure Bluetooth is off on other previously paired/connected devices.

If the above solutions do not help, factory reset the headset (see 'Factory reset the headset' on page 9).
