NUX NCK-330 Firmware Update Guide

To ensure successful firmware update for your NCK-330, please strictly follow the steps in this guide:

1. Download the latest firmware

Visit the NUX NCK-330 webpage on your computer, go to the “Support” section at the bottom, and download the “Firmware” (macOS or Windows version) zip file.
Unzip the downloaded file, in which you can find two firmware folders that need to update: DSP and MCU.

2. Connect the NCK-330 and activate the Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode

Use a USB-MIDI cable, connect one end to the USB port on the right side of NCK-330 and the other end to your computer.

The NCK-330 features several ports including PEDAL, DC 12V 2A, LINE OUT L (MONO) R, AUX IN, NBT-1 BLUETOOTH MODULE, and USB. The USB port is used for firmware updates.

Press and hold both “PIANO SOUND” and “OTHER SOUND” buttons while turning on the power, until it shows “FIRMWARE UPDATE START READY” on the screen.

The screen will display "FIRMWARE UPDATE START READY" indicating the device is ready for the update.

3. Folder 1: Update the DSP firmwares

Install the Updater (“RPC-DFUForWin.exe" for Windows, “RPC-DFU1.0.0.dmg" for MacOS) on your computer.
The "Device" section will show “RPC DFU Device”, which means the NCK-330 has been connected successfully.

The RPC-DFU application interface shows a "Device" section, a "Programming Target" dropdown, a "PageSize" display, and several buttons: "CustomButton", "Soundbank info", "Refresh", "File...", "Verify soundbank", and "Start Program". The progress is shown as a percentage.

First, under the “Programming Target" menu, select "NF Firmware".

The application will display the firmware details for NF Firmware, NF SBank4K, NF DEMO, and NF Style.

Click "File..." and select the DSP firmware: NCK330_DSP_V2.0.3.bin.

Click "Start Programming" and wait until the status bar shows 100%. DO NOT unplug the USB cable or the power supply during the process.

Secondly, under the “Programming Target” menu, select “NF SBank4K”.

Click “File...” and select the SBANK firmware: NCK330_SBANK_V1.0.6.bin.

Click “Start Programming” and wait until the status bar shows 100%. DO NOT unplug the USB cable or the power supply during the process.

Thirdly, under the “Programming Target” menu, select “NF Style”.

Click "File..." and select the Style firmware: NCK330_STYLE_V1.0.2.bin.

Click “Start Programming” and wait until the status bar shows 100%. DO NOT unplug the USB cable or the power supply during the process.

4. Folder 2: Update the MCU firmware

Install the Updater (“MIDI_DFU_Updater.exe” for Windows, “MIDI_DFU_Updater 1.0.1.dmg" for MacOS) on your computer.
Click "File..." and select the MCU firmware: NCK330_MCU_V1.0.9.bin.

The MIDI_DFU_Updater application has fields for "MIDI Device Out", "MIDI Device In", "Target Device", "Address", and "Update Status". It also includes buttons for "refresh", "Start Update", and "file ...".

Click "Start Update” and wait until the status bar shows 100%. DO NOT unplug the USB cable or the power supply during the process.

The update status bar will show 100% upon successful completion. The file path for the MCU firmware update is also displayed.

5. Complete the firmware update

Restart your piano after the update is completed.
