Legrand DALI Light Up Multi-Sensor Detector
The Legrand DALI Light Up is an advanced multi-sensor detector designed for lighting control and building management applications. It integrates various sensors to measure presence, light levels, temperature, humidity, acoustics, and air quality (VOCs).
1. Usage
The DALI Light Up detector is a people-counting sensor for lighting control and building management. It features:
- An auxiliary input for lighting control via a phase-connected button.
- A thermal imaging sensor for people counting and presence detection.
- A daylight sensor to measure natural and artificial light for daylight setpoint control.
- A temperature sensor to measure ambient temperature in Celsius.
- A relative humidity sensor to measure current ambient humidity in percentage.
- An acoustic level sensor to measure ambient noise level in dB SPL.
- A VOC sensor to estimate indoor air quality, providing a UBA index and estimating CO2 levels as "eCO2".
- A DALI output for bus power and diffused lighting control.
- A relay output for powering DALI ECGs.
- A Bluetooth 5.0 node for commissioning via the CLOSE UP mobile app.
- A 2.4 GHz radio node for managing connected devices and extending coverage.
The device can be updated via the "CLOSE UP" app available for iOS and Android.

2.2 Daylight Sensor
Measures natural and artificial light to control illumination based on the desired daylight setpoint. Range: 5-1275 lux. The "0" value can be used to memorize ambient light levels as a daylight setpoint.

Button Functions:
- Radio Network Button: Short press (< 0.5s) to associate/open/close a network. Long press (> 5s) for radio reset.
- Connection Button: Short press (< 0.5s) for network creation/initial connection. Long press (> 5s) for target connection.
- Reset Button: Short press (< 0.5s) for reset. Long press (> 5s) for factory reset.
LED Indicators:
- Radio LED: Indicates radio operation status (failed, reset, network open, association in progress, connection in progress, update, device anomaly, startup).
- Presence LED: Indicates presence detection (green solid for movement, green flashing for presence).
- Bluetooth LED: Indicates Bluetooth status (off, paired, unpaired).
7. Mounting
Mounting and wiring must be performed without power. Follow safety instructions carefully.

Note: The relay is dedicated to powering the ECG to reduce energy consumption. ECG shutdown is delayed by 5 minutes.
The detector is configured for dimmable DALI ECGs but can be paired with DALI (ON/OFF) actuators. Use the "Legrand CLOSE UP" app to change the load type to "Non-Dimmable".
Master/Slave Configuration:
By default, the device is configured as Master. For Slave configuration, refer to the LIGHT UP Technical Guide. A Master can be paired with up to 5 Slave detectors.
Important:
- The detector powers the DALI BUS. Do not connect 2 sensors to the same DALI BUS.
- Slaves can extend the detection area. No load should be paired with a Slave.
- If used in Master/Slave mode, the wired button must be connected only to the Master sensor.
9. Detection Zone

10. Installation
Maximum installation height is 4 m. Ensure the device's field of view is not obstructed by objects that could hide people. Avoid direct airflow on the device.

11. First Commissioning
The device is ready for use after 5 minutes of operation and self-calibrates within 20 minutes. Immediate calibration can be initiated via the CLOSE UP app, ensuring no one is in the detection area.

12. Settings - Default Settings
This section details various sensor settings and their default values, which can be modified via the CLOSE UP app:
- Time Delay: 15 minutes (adjustable).
- Detection: Sensitivity settings.
- Detection LED: Enabled (indicates presence and movement).
- Light Output Type: Dimmable.
- Daylight Setpoint: 300 lux (adjustable).
- Light Level Adjustment: Enabled.
- Fade Level: 10 (adjusts dimming before shutdown).
- Stand-by Time: Disabled (adjustable from 5 sec to 60 min).
- Light Level: Measured light level.
- Light Level Offset: Adjustable.
- Temperature: Current temperature reading.
- Humidity: Current relative humidity reading.
- Noise Sensor: Maximum and average noise levels.
- Air Sensor: VOC and eCO2 levels.
Specific Settings Explained:
- 12.1 Time Delay: Duration the load remains on after detection.
- 12.2 Sensitivity: Detection field adjustment.
- 12.3 Detection LED: Illuminates for 80s on startup and 1s on movement detection.
- 12.4 Daylight Setpoint: Light level threshold for automatic lighting control.
- 12.5 Regulation: Automatic load shutdown after 15 minutes (default) or 20 seconds if light level is below setpoint.
- 12.6 Fade Level: Gradually reduces light before shutdown.
- 12.7 Stand-by Time: Adjusts shutdown warning duration.
- 12.8 Light Level: Measured light level value.
- 12.9 Auto ON/Auto OFF Mode: Light turns on when presence is detected and ambient light is insufficient, and turns off when no presence is detected or ambient light is sufficient.
- 12.10 Passage Mode: If no presence is detected within 3 minutes of initial detection, the load turns off. If presence is detected again within 3 minutes, the delay is reset.
- 12.11 Manual ON / Auto OFF Mode: Light is turned on manually but turns off automatically when no presence is detected or after the set delay.
- 12.12 Restart: Automatically turns the device on 30 seconds after load shutdown.
- 12.13 Temperature: Measures ambient temperature in Celsius.
- 12.14 Noise Sensor: Measures ambient acoustic level in dB SPL.
- 12.15 Humidity: Measures ambient relative humidity in %.
- 12.16 Air Quality Sensor: Measures total volatile compounds in ppb, provides AQI and estimates CO2 levels.
- 12.17 Regulation Speed: Adjusts load reaction time based on light level and user setpoint.
- 12.18 Offset Settings: Allows adjustment of sensor readings (temperature, humidity, noise).
- 12.19 Factory Reset: Resets all parameters to default values, removes network links, and resets passwords.
13. LED Indicators
The device features LEDs for Bluetooth and movement detection.
The CLOSE UP app can be used to configure the detector. Bluetooth communication is used for parameter modification.

14.6 Calibration
The device is ready for use after 5 minutes and self-calibrates within 20 minutes. Immediate calibration can be initiated via the CLOSE UP app by exiting the room and tapping "Start Calibration".
Important: Exit the room before calibration.
Note: During calibration, hot spots from electrical equipment are treated as background and not counted as people. Full effectiveness after initial use is achieved within 24 hours.

17. Cleaning
Keep the lens clean. Wipe the surface with a cloth. Avoid using acetone, stain removers, or trichloroethylene. The device is resistant to hexane, methyl alcohol, soapy water, diluted ammonia, diluted bleach (10%), and glass cleaner.
Always test cleaning products on a small area first.
