Mounting Options
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount to an outlet box marked "Acceptable for fan support of 35 lb (15.9 kg) or less" and use screws provided with the outlet box. Outlet boxes commonly used for lighting fixtures may not be suitable for fan support and may need replacement. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
If your ceiling fan lacks an existing UL Listed mounting box, install one:
- Disconnect power by removing fuses or turning off circuit breakers.
- Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure using appropriate fasteners and materials. The outlet box and support structure must reliably support a minimum of 35 lb (15.9 kg). Use only UL Listed outlet boxes marked "Acceptable for fan support of 35 lb (15.9 kg) or less." Do not use a plastic outlet box.
Illustrations show three methods for mounting the outlet box.
NOTE: A longer downrod may be needed for steep, sloped ceilings to maintain proper blade clearance. The maximum allowable angle is 30° from horizontal.
[Diagram Description: Illustration showing a hanger bar attached to an outlet box.]
If the canopy touches the downrod, remove the decorative canopy bottom cover and turn the canopy 180° before attaching it to the mounting plate.
To hang the fan where an existing fixture is present but no ceiling joist, an installation hanger bar may be needed (available at Home Depot).

Operation
Using the Fan
Your fan is equipped with a remote control for operating speed and lights. Speed settings for warm or cool weather depend on factors like room size and ceiling height.
The fan ships with the reversing switch (YY) set for downward airflow. To reverse airflow: turn the fan off, wait for blades to stop, slide the reversing switch (on the motor housing) to the opposite position, and turn the fan on. The blades will then turn in the opposite direction.
- Warm weather (Forward): Downward airflow creates a cooling effect, allowing higher air conditioner settings without affecting comfort.
- Cool weather (Reverse): Upward airflow moves warm air from the ceiling, allowing lower heating unit settings without affecting comfort.
Using Your Remote Control
- Power ON/OFF: Press and release the power button to turn the fan and light on or off.
- Fan Speed: LEDs on the fan speed button indicate the current speed. Press and release the button: 1 time for high speed, 2 times for medium speed, 3 times for low speed, 4 times to turn the fan off.
- Light ON/OFF: Press and release the button to turn the light on or off. Press and hold the button to activate the dimmer function.
- Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) Changing:
- NOTE: The default light temperature is 3000K (Soft White).
- Press and release the button to cycle through three color temperature options: 2700K (Warm White), 3000K (Soft White), 5000K (Daylight).
Care and Cleaning
WARNING: Ensure power is off before cleaning your fan.
Due to the fan's natural movement, connections may loosen. Check support connections, brackets, and blade attachments twice a year to ensure they are secure. Removal from the ceiling is not necessary.
Clean the fan periodically with a soft brush or lint-free cloth to maintain its appearance and avoid scratching the finish. Do not use water, as it can damage the motor or wood, or cause electrical shock.
A light coat of furniture polish can be applied to wood for protection and beauty. Small scratches can be covered with a light application of shoe polish.
The motor has permanently-lubricated sealed ball bearings; no oiling is required.
