Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the iTechworld pure sine wave inverter remote control (RC1). This remote control allows you to turn your inverter on/off from a distance. The remote control (RC1) also allows you to monitor your battery capacity, DC power input, load being drawn from your inverter, and AC output.
Figure 1: RC1 Remote Control Panel
The RC1 remote control panel features the following components:
- A: Remote Control Main Switch: A toggle switch for turning the inverter ON or OFF.
- B: Fault LED Indicator: Illuminates or flashes red when a fault is detected.
- C: AC Output Indicator: Illuminates green when the inverter is outputting 240VAC power.
- D: Inverter Load Indicator: Displays the approximate load being drawn from the inverter via bar graphs (e.g., 100%, 20%).
- E: DC Input Power Indicator: Illuminates green when DC power is being supplied to the inverter.
- F: Battery Capacity Indicator: Displays the approximate remaining capacity of the connected battery via bar graphs (e.g., 100%, 20%).
Component Descriptions
A. Remote Control Main Switch: The main switch is used for turning ON or OFF the output of the inverter. With the switch in the ON position, the AC Output Indicator LED(C) will glow green to indicate 240VAC is being produced.
B. Fault LED Indicator: Will illuminate/flash red when a fault is detected. When a fault occurs, the 240VAC output will be turned off. Please refer to the troubleshooting section (not provided in this document).
C. AC Output Indicator: Will illuminate green to show that the inverter is outputting 240VAC power.
D. Inverter Load Indicator: Displays the approximate load being drawn from the inverter.
E. DC Power Indicator: Will illuminate green to show that DC power is being supplied to the inverter.
F. Battery Capacity Indicator: Displays the approximate remaining capacity of the battery running that is connected to the inverter.
Connecting the Remote Control
The remote control is connected to the inverter using the communications cable supplied with the purchase. The cable is a 6-conductor RJ11 cable. The pinout of the connector is a Straight Pinout and NOT Reverse. The cable connects to the RJ-11 ports found on the rear of the remote and on the front panel of the inverter (Port F in figures 1 and 2 of your inverter's instruction manual).
Figure 2: RC1 Remote Control Cable Pinout
The cable uses a straight pinout for connection. The wire order for Side A and Side B of the RJ11 connector is as follows:
- Pin 1: Grey
- Pin 2: Black
- Pin 3: Red
- Pin 4: Green
- Pin 5: Yellow
- Pin 6: Blue
Use this pinout if needing to extend the remote cable.
Using the Remote Control
When using the remote control to turn the inverter on or off, please make sure the Main Switch on the inverter front panel is in the OFF position. If the inverter's main switch is ON, the remote-control main switch will not function.
