Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the product normally create a lot of noise when it kills mosquitoes?

The electric mosquito repellent works by electronically shocking mosquitoes. While this is an environmentally friendly method without chemicals, an electric shock sound is produced when mosquitoes contact the grid.

Why do certain flies on electrical grids stop without dying?

Flies are larger than mosquitoes. Their flying posture and the point of contact on the grid determine how many are killed at once. Sometimes they are killed, and other times they may just be stunned.

Why doesn't the light come on after plugging in?

This could be due to shipment damage or poor lamp contact. Please contact Buzbug support for a replacement.

Is it necessary to clean my insect repellent regularly?

Yes, the accumulation of dead insects can reduce effectiveness and cause continuous discharges, leading to product failure. It is recommended to clean the collection tray, bulb, and exterior weekly.

Introducing UV-LED Lamp Bead Technology

Buzbug has upgraded its bug zappers with 64 innovative UV-LED mosquito lamp beads. These beads efficiently release the mosquito's preferred wavelength, emitting a mild blue light that is safe for humans, reduces light pollution, and conserves energy. Mosquitoes are attracted to ultraviolet light, not visible light, so increasing brightness is not recommended.

How to Properly Clean and Replace a Lamp

  1. Power Off: Unplug the device before replacing the lamp. Wait at least one minute for residual electricity to dissipate.
  2. Discharge the Grid: Use an insulated screwdriver to touch the internal LED for 5-10 seconds to safely discharge any residual charge.
  3. Cleaning Process: Unscrew and empty the garbage collection tray at the bottom. Use a dry brush or soft cloth to clean insect debris from the bulb and the device's exterior. Never immerse the device in water or use abrasive solvents.

Diagrams illustrate the process of removing the tray, cleaning it, and cleaning the safety grid. Another diagram shows the steps for lamp replacement, including aligning the new lamp with the socket.
