Assembly Steps
-
Step 1: Preparation
Remove the filing cabinet from the box and place it upright. Unlock the cabinet and remove the hardware kit from the second drawer. Close and relock the cabinet. With assistance, carefully lift and rotate the cabinet upside down onto a carpet or blanket to prevent surface scratches.
-
Step 2: Install Casters
Insert the threaded caster post through a lock washer and into the cabinet's threaded inserts. Place locking casters in the front two inserts and standard casters in the back two. Hand-tighten the caster posts, then use the wrench to fully secure them. Repeat for all four casters.
-
Step 3: Install Anti-Tip Caster
Align the anti-tip caster with the pre-drilled holes on the bottom edge of the large drawer, ensuring the wheel faces away from the cabinet front. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the screws.
-
Step 4: Position Cabinet Upright
Confirm the locking casters are in the locked position. With assistance, lift and rotate the cabinet to an upright position, setting it down gently on the casters.
-
Step 5: Install Pencil Tray and Filing Bar
Unlock the file cabinet. Insert the pencil tray into the desired location in the top drawer. To install the filing bar, position it according to the diagram. Lower the bar into the drawer, place one end in a side slot, and rotate it until the other end fits into its corresponding slot. You may need to gently push the drawer side outward to facilitate rotation.
