Site Requirements
Temperature/Humidity: Keep the equipment room at appropriate temperature and humidity levels. Extreme conditions can lead to insulation issues, electrical leakage, mechanical property changes, corrosion, and accelerated aging of materials.
Clearness: Dust accumulation can cause static electricity and poor contact. While the device has static prevention measures, strong static electricity can damage internal components. To avoid this:
- Dust the device regularly and keep the indoor air clean.
- Keep the device well-grounded to transfer static electricity.
Electromagnetic Interference: Electronic components can be affected by external interferences. To decrease interference:
- Use a power supply that effectively filters interference from the power grid.
- Keep the device far from high-frequency and strong-current devices (e.g., radio transmitting stations).
- Use electromagnetic shielding when necessary.
Lightning Protection
Extremely high voltage currents can occur during lightning strikes. Effective lightning protection measures are crucial:
- Ensure the rack and device are well-earthed.
- Make sure the power socket has good contact with the ground.
- Maintain a reasonable cabling system to avoid induced lightning.
- Use a signal SPD (Surge Protective Device) for outdoor wiring.
Note: For detailed lightning protection measures, visit tp-link.com/support, search for the model number, and refer to the Lightning Protection Guide: tp-link.com/us/configuration-guides/lightning_protection_guide/.
