KoolProg Ver 5.4.x: Maintenance Release Update

A new version of KoolProg (Ver. 5.4) is available for download, featuring several improvements and enhancements. The new version can be downloaded via the provided link.

Detailed description

1. Supports EKE 100 & 110 controllers with latest SW versions
   

   The EKE 110 currently works with Adam and ICP Con converters. An updated version of KoolKey, compatible with EKE 110, is scheduled for release in Q3 2025.

2. Supports convert setting functionality for EKE 100 and EKE 110 controller families
   

   This functionality is now supported for both EKE 100 and EKE 110 controller families.

3. Implemented KoolProg Software auto update feature
   

   Users will receive a pop-up message to update KoolProg to the latest version when a new version is released.

4. Improvements
   

   Performance has been significantly improved in the online service window.

Known issues/Specific limitations to this release

• KoolProg may not close the communication port when the MPK device is disconnected from KoolKey, requiring manual disconnection and re-connection.
• MPK (EKA 201) does not support programming of unknown controller files.
• MYK version below 5.01 may not support all KoolProg features for AK-CC 55 controllers.
• When performing convert settings for EKE 100 - 1V code numbers, the Convert Settings report currently displays parameters specific to EKE 100 - 2V code numbers. This will be resolved in the next KoolProg release.

Alsmart® Design New Version Release: AS-Key

Danfoss is pleased to announce the release of the AS-Key, a new license key for the Alsmart® Universal Controller Platform. The AS-Key provides a permanent license for using Alsmart Design, a software tool chain that works seamlessly with Alsmart® Universal controllers for developing custom software applications.

All versions of Alsmart Design include 90 days of free usage. After this period, the AS-Key is required to continue accessing the software.

Optyma™ Bare Condensing Unit Reciprocating Compressor Replacement

Due to a supplier decision and manufacturer compressor phase-out, Danfoss will replace all bare condensing units equipped with reciprocating T and F compressors series. New alternative solutions have been designed to adapt to specific customer needs. This change may impact condensing unit size, performance, and customer connection pipes.

Affected products: All bare light commercial condensing unit ranges equipped with brand labelled TL and FR compressors series, including 15 compressors. Details for 63 condensing units will be provided later.

Optyma™ Slim Pack Piping Change (Rev2)

As part of Danfoss' continuous quality monitoring, a change has been made to the discharge tube piping design for Optyma Slim Pack models to ensure reliable operation under all intended working conditions. This optimization addresses infrequent and extremely rare abnormal vibration discovered in specific working conditions. While no abnormal noise has been detected after several years of operation, this change is part of the product improvement process.

Description: Under specific working conditions, Optyma Slim Pack models may exhibit higher vibration levels. This optimization aims to ensure high-quality products.

Affected products: All Optyma Slim Pack models with DS and CS compressors.

The 2 models in green (114X7236, 114X7237) with serial number starting from 198397CG0225, implemented on 16-01-2025, feature the new design which ensures flexibility and reliability of brazed parts.

Strengthened Spindle and Cast Nut Designs of ICM Large Valves DN100-DN150

Danfoss has modified the design of the ICM Large's spindle and cast nut to improve lead times and address supplier shortages. The design changes include increasing the spindle thread diameter from 8 to 10 mm and changing the nut from M8 to M10 thread. These changes do not affect the specified Kv (Cv) values or performance.

Current Design: Spindle diameter 8 mm, Nut with M8 thread.

New Design: Spindle diameter 10 mm, Nut with M10 thread.

This change will be implemented in two steps:

1. Launch of New Repair Kits: Three new repair kits will be introduced for sizes 100, 125, and 150, including a new spindle, cast nut, and locking ring. New sales codes will be created for these kits, and existing kits will be phased out.
2. Implementation in all ICM Large products: The change will be applied to all ICM Large products (100, 125, and 150), including assembled valves and overhaul kits, using existing sales codes.

A transition period is expected during which both versions will be available. This change is backward compatible with all ICM 100-150 models.

Existing repair kits which will be phased out:

Step 2: ICM Complete Valve and Overhaul Kit

This change applies to all ICM Large models (100, 125, and 150), including assembled valves and overhaul kits. Implementation will use existing sales codes.

Release of IPS 8 with R290 (Propane)

Danfoss is pleased to announce a new solution for the Danfoss IPS 8 Air Purger that supports an additional 8 purge points, bringing the total to 16. The IPS 8 extension module, featuring an MCX08M2-based controller with built-in HMI and software, enables communication with the MCX15B2 controller in the IPS 8 Air Purger. The extension module can be positioned remotely from the main unit.

Customer impact:

• Last call for existing calls can be made up to End June for ordering.
• Delivery up to September 2025.
• Products will be stopped after stock consumption.
• Dimension for implementation inside the customer application:
• Change in mounting dimensions.
• Change in terms of tubing connection (inlet and outlet).
• Compressor connection change.
• Diagrammatic representation of changes:
• Charging connection has moved slightly.
• Wiring connections are similar.
• Inlet and outlet connection pipes are interchanged.
• Mounting connection holes are changed.
• Cooling capacity deviation.
• Possible compressor replacement issue on field due to new compressor fitment.
