Product Overview

The Honeywell T8205B,C and TS8205B,C Electronic Pool and Spa Control Systems are designed for controlling water temperature in pool, spa, and hot tub applications. The systems consist of a Control Module (T8205A or TS8205A) and a Setpoint Panel (Q8205A-C). A Sensor Assembly is purchased separately.

Control Modules and Setpoint Panels can be purchased separately for flexible mounting. Setpoint Panels can be remotely located. The systems utilize solid-state electronics potted in a moisture and chemical-resistant package, providing reliable operation in demanding environments.

Typical System Wiring Diagrams

The following diagrams illustrate typical system wiring configurations for controlling water temperature in pool, spa, or hot tub applications.

Diagram 1: T8205B,C (or TS8205B,C) wired to 24V Gas Control

This diagram shows a T8205B or T8205C control system connected to a 24V gas control. Key components include the control module (T8205B or T8205C), a setpoint panel (Q8205B or Q8205C), a sensor, a 24 VAC power supply, a fuse, limits, and a gas valve.

Notes for Diagram 1:

  • 1. Power Supply: Ensure proper disconnect means and overload protection are provided as required.
  • 2. Setpoint Panel Configuration: Q8205B has one potentiometer; Q8205C has two potentiometers.
  • 3. Factory Wiring: T8205B,C units are factory wired.

Diagram 2: T8205B,C (or TS8205B,C) wired to Ignition Module

This diagram illustrates a T8205B or T8205C control system connected to an ignition module. Components include the control module, setpoint panel, sensor, 24 VAC power supply, fuse, limits, an S8600 ignition module, and a VR8200 gas valve.

Notes for Diagram 2:

  • 1. Power Supply: Ensure proper disconnect means and overload protection are provided as required.
  • 2. Setpoint Panel Configuration: Q8205C has two potentiometers; Q8205B has one potentiometer.
  • 3. Factory Wiring: T8205B,C units are factory wired.

Diagram 3: TS8205B,C Wiring Connections for High Limit Control

This diagram shows the wiring for TS8205B,C control systems when configured for high limit control. It includes the TS8205B or TS8205C control system, a Q8205B setpoint panel, a sensor, and connections for a high limit control and a millivolt generator.

Notes for Diagram 3:

  • 1. Polarity: Polarity is critical; follow polarity markings during wiring to prevent malfunction.
  • 2. Limit Action: A limit action with the high limit wired between the gas control and generator will lock out the heater until the pilot is manually relit.
  • 3. Alternate High Limit Location: This location allows automatic heater restart after the limit switch remakes.
  • 4. Factory Wiring: TS8205B,C units are factory wired.
