Introduction
Braun shavers are designed to meet high standards of quality, functionality, and design. This manual provides essential safety information and operating instructions.
Safety Warnings
- Appliance is suitable for use in bathtub or shower. Use shaving foam or gel for shower use.
- For safety, the appliance operates only cordless.
- Use only the special cord set provided. Do not exchange or tamper with it.
- If marked 492, it is compatible with Braun power supply coded 492-XXXX.
- Do not use with damaged foil, trimmer, or cord.
- Do not open the appliance. Disassemble battery only at end of life for disposal as shown in battery removal section.
- Can be used by children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities if supervised or instructed on safe use and hazards.
- Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning/maintenance by children only if supervised and older than 8.
- For hygienic reasons, do not share the appliance with others.

Key components of the shaver:
- 1. Foil & Cutter cassette: The shaving head.
- 2. Long hair trimmer*: For trimming sideburns, moustache, or beard.
- 3. Precision mode switch*: Slides right for precise handling in hard-to-shave areas, lowering one foil.
- 4. On/off switch: To operate the shaver.
- 5. Green charging light(s): Indicates charging status. Blinks when charging/on, shines permanently when fully charged and connected.
- 6. Red low-charge light: Flashes when the battery is running low.
- 7. Replacement light for shaving parts: Illuminates when foil & cutter cassette needs replacement (approx. 18 months).
- 8. Shaver power socket: Where the cord set connects.
- 9. Special cord set: Power supply unit.
- 10. Charging stand*: Optional accessory for charging.
- 11. Travel pouch*: For storage and travel.
- 12. Protection cap*: Protects the shaving head.
- 13. Beard trimmer head with 5 combs (BT32)*: For beard styling.

Charging
Recommended ambient temperatures for charging: 5°C to 35°C. Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Connect the shaver or charging stand (10) to an electrical outlet using the special cord set (9) with the motor switched off.
- For first-time charging or after long storage, charge continuously for 4 hours.
- After full charge, discharge through normal use, then recharge to full capacity. Subsequent charges take about 1 hour.
- A full charge provides up to 45 minutes of cordless shaving. Maximum battery capacity is reached after several cycles.
- A 5-minute quick charge is sufficient for one shave.
Charging Lights:
- Green light (5): Blinks during charging/use, solid when fully charged and connected.
- Red light (6): Flashes when the battery is low.
Shaving
Press the on/off switch (4) to operate. The flexible shaving foils adapt to facial contours.
- Long hair trimmer (2): Slide upwards to trim sideburns, moustache, or beard.
- Precision mode switch (3): Slide to the right for precise handling in difficult areas (e.g., under the nose), lowering one foil.
Tips for a Perfect Dry Shave:
- Shave before washing your face.
- Hold the shaver at a 90° angle to your skin.
- Stretch your skin and shave against the direction of beard growth.
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.
Cleaning Under Running Water:
- Switch the shaver on (cordless).
- Rinse the shaver head and precision mode switch under hot running water until residues are removed. Liquid soap without abrasive substances can be used.
- Rinse off all foam and let the shaver run for a few more seconds.
- Switch off the shaver, remove the Foil & Cutter cassette (1) and let it dry.
- Weekly, apply a drop of light machine oil to the long hair trimmer (2) and Foil & Cutter cassette (1) if cleaned under water regularly.
- Clean the shaver after each foam usage.
Cleaning With a Brush:
- Switch off the shaver.
- Remove the Foil & Cutter cassette and tap it out on a flat surface.
- Use a brush to clean the inner area of the head. Do not clean the Foil & Cutter cassette with a brush to avoid damage.
Keeping Your Shaver in Top Shape
Replacement Light for Shaving Parts / Reset:
Replace the Foil & Cutter cassette (1) when the replacement light (7) illuminates (approx. 18 months) or when worn to maintain 100% shaving performance.
The light will remind you for the next 7 shaves. To reset after replacement, press the on/off switch (4) for at least 5 seconds. The light blinks and turns off upon completion.
A manual reset can be performed anytime.
Preserving the Batteries:
To maintain optimum battery capacity, fully discharge the shaver by shaving approximately every 6 months, then recharge to full capacity.

Braun offers a 2-year guarantee on the product from the date of purchase.
