The CPU Module 9442/32 acts as a gateway between the IS1+ Remote I/O System and the automation system. It supports various communication protocols, configurable by the user. The module facilitates the transfer of process values, diagnostics, parameterization, and configuration data. Communication with I/O modules is established via the 9496 socket and the 9494 BusRail. Integration into control systems and Plant Asset Management tools is achieved through standards like GSD, EDS, Webserver, OPC UA, and FDT/DTM.
