Comfee CHK 3.6B Cooker Hood Instruction Manual
This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Comfee CHK 3.6B cooker hood. Please read it carefully before use and keep it for future reference.
Recommendations and Suggestions
This manual applies to multiple versions of the appliance. Some features described may not apply to your specific model.
Installation:
- The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from incorrect or improper installation.
- Maintain a minimum safety distance of 650 mm between the cooker top and the hood (refer to specific installation dimensions for gas appliances).
- Ensure the mains voltage matches the rating plate.
- For Class I appliances, verify adequate earthing of the domestic power supply.
- Connect the extractor to the exhaust flue using a pipe with a minimum diameter of 120 mm. Keep the flue route as short as possible.
- Do not connect the hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (e.g., boilers, fireplaces).
- If used with non-electrical appliances (e.g., gas burners), ensure sufficient room aeration to prevent exhaust gas backflow. The kitchen must have an opening to the outside for clean air entry. If used with appliances powered by energy other than electric, room negative pressure should not exceed 0.04 mbar to prevent fume back-suction.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service department, or similarly qualified personnel.
- Comply with regulations concerning air discharge.
Use:
- The cooker hood is designed for domestic use only, not for commercial purposes like barbecues or food stalls.
- Never use the hood for purposes other than its intended design.
- Do not operate with high open flames under the hood. Adjust flame intensity to be contained within the pan base.
- Monitor deep fat fryers continuously; overheated oil can ignite.
- Do not flame under the hood; risk of fire.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, if supervised or instructed on safe use and hazards.
- Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance by users should not be performed by unsupervised children.
- CAUTION: Accessible parts can become hot during use with cooking appliances.
Maintenance
- Clean the cooker hood and its filters regularly according to instructions.
- Switch off or unplug the appliance before performing any maintenance.
- Clean and/or replace filters at specified intervals to prevent fire hazards.
- Clean the hood with a damp cloth and a neutral liquid detergent.
- The appliance uses a maximum of 4 hob elements.
- The WEEE symbol [crossed-out bin on wheels] indicates that this product must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be handed over to an appropriate collection point for electrical and electronic equipment recycling. Proper disposal helps prevent negative consequences for health and the environment. Contact your local authority or retailer for recycling information.

- Depth of main body: 400 mm
- Height of main body: 360 mm
- Chimney dimensions: 364 mm (width), 181 mm (depth)
- Minimum installation height above cooker top: 530 mm.
Installation: Wall Drilling and Bracket Fixing
Follow these steps for wall mounting:
- Marking Lines: Draw a vertical line to the ceiling at the center of the installation area. Draw a horizontal line A at 1270-1560 mm above the cooker top. Draw a horizontal line B at a minimum of 887 mm (840 mm optional) above line A. Draw a horizontal line C at a minimum of 717 mm above line A.
- Marking Points: Mark point (1) on line A, 40 mm from the vertical line. Repeat on the other side, ensuring marks are level. Mark point (2) on line B, 80 mm (135 mm optional) from the vertical line. Repeat on the other side, ensuring marks are level. Mark point (3) on line C, 112.5 mm from the vertical line. Repeat on the other side, ensuring marks are level.
- Fix Brackets (Optional): Drill holes at marked points (1), (2), (3) using a 10 mm drill bit. Insert Wall Plugs (11) into the holes. Fix the hood fixing bracket (20) with 3 screws (10) to line A. Fix the chimney fixing bracket (21) with 2 screws (10) to line B.
- Hook the Hood Body: Open the panel. Remove the metal grease filter. Hook the hood body to bracket (20). Level the hood body. From the inside of the hood body, fix screws (10) to wall plugs (11) at points (3). Fit the filter into the hood. Close the panel.
Correct vs. Incorrect Mounting: Diagrams illustrate the correct method of fixing screws to wall plugs and fitting the filter, contrasting it with incorrect methods.
Choose a Venting Mode
Select one of two venting modes before installation:
- Extraction-air mode: Air is discharged outside the house via a pipe.
- Recirculation mode: Air is purified and discharged back into the house through holes on the adjustable decorative cover. This mode requires carbon filters and may reduce suction power.
Connections: Ducted Version Air Exhaust System
For the ducted version, connect the hood to the chimney using a flexible or rigid pipe of 150 mm or 120 mm diameter. The installer chooses the pipe size.
- For a 120 mm connection, use the reducer flange (3) on the hood body outlet.
- Secure the pipe (4) with pipe clamps (not supplied).
- Remove any charcoal filters if using extraction mode.
Chimney Assembly
The chimney can only be installed with the exhausting hood.
- Lower Decorative Chimney: Fix a chimney fixing bracket (21) to the lower decorative chimney using 2 screws (12). Hook brackets (13) onto the hood body and secure with 2 screws (12). Slightly widen the sides of the lower chimney and hook it between brackets (13), then fix it with 2 screws (12).
- Upper Decorative Chimney: Slightly widen the sides of the upper chimney and hook it between the wall and bracket (21) (which is fixed to the lower chimney). Secure the upper chimney to bracket (21) with 2 screws (12).

Maintenance
Grease Filters
Cleaning Metal Self-Supporting Grease Filters:
- Clean filters every 2 months, or more frequently with heavy usage. They can be washed in a dishwasher.
- Remove filters by pushing them towards the back of the hood unit and pulling downwards.
- Avoid bending filters during washing. Ensure they are completely dry before reinstallation. Filter surface color may change over time but does not affect efficiency.
- When refitting, ensure filters are in the correct position with the handle facing outwards.
- Close the comfort panel.
Activated Charcoal Filter (Recirculation Version)
These filters are not washable and cannot be regenerated. Replace approximately every 4 months of operation, or more frequently with heavy usage.
Replacing the Activated Charcoal Filter:
- Open comfort panels.
- Remove metal grease filters.
- Remove the saturated activated charcoal filter.
- Fit new filters.
- Replace metal grease filters.
- Close the comfort panel.
Lighting
Light Replacement
The hood uses a 1.5W LED light.
- Switch off the extractor hood and disconnect from the mains supply (unplug or switch off fuse).
- Remove the grease filter.
- Lever the light fitting from the hood body (may require pressure).
- Disconnect the light connector.
- Replace the light with a new one of the same type, ensuring the light cable is connected correctly.
- Reinstall the light back into the hood body.
LED Module Specifications:
Max power | Voltage | Picture | Lamp Cap | ILCOS D code |
---|---|---|---|---|
1.5W | 110V-240V | Square/Diameter: 33.2mm x 120mm | / | DBS-1.5-H-33.2/120 |
Disposal of Old Electrical Appliances
The European directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE) mandates that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. They must be collected separately for optimized recovery and recycling of materials, reducing environmental and health impacts. The [crossed-out bin on wheels] symbol on the product signifies this obligation. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for correct disposal information.
