OG Touring Steering Damper Kit 2.0
Please refer to your bike service manual for additional guidance.
Installation Steps
- Start by removing your OEM “cowbells” (parts 11 & 8).
- Lift the front wheel of the bike to allow it to fully turn left and right.
- Remove the engine stabilizer bolt (part 7) attaching the stabilizer link to the frame.
- Install the OG Damper Fork Clamp on the left fork tube. Position the fork clamp as close as possible to the lower triple tree, ensuring the shoulder on the clamp is facing down.
- Tighten the fork clamp bolt but do not torque it yet. Ensure the clamp can still rotate.
- Install the OG Damper Rear bracket onto the stabilizer link using the supplied ARP hardware. Do not torque the bolt yet; ensure the bracket can still rotate.
Damper Installation
7. Steering damper installation
- Ohlins: Install the Ohlins steering damper using the supplied hardware. Ensure the steering damper clamp bolts are loose enough to slide the clamp back and forth.
- Matris: Install the Matris steering damper using the supplied rubber bushings and hardware. Ensure the steering damper clamp bolts are loose enough to slide the clamp back and forth.
8. Turn the front end completely to the right.
9. Move the steering damper clamp so the damper is at full stroke.
Final Adjustments and Torquing
10. Ensure all bolts are snug but not torqued yet.
11. Turn the front end completely to the left. You should achieve the full steering angle. If not, adjust the steering damper bracket and OG bracket until you can reach the full steering angle on both sides.
12. Ensure the front end moves freely.
13. Torque the steering damper clamp to 53 in-lbs.
14. Torque the remaining hardware to the torque specifications shown in the diagram.
