Yale Rim Deadlock
Installation Instructions
Suitable for inward opening & sliding doors only.
1. Prepare Door
Select the side of the door for lock mounting. Place the template at the desired height, aligning Line 'A' with the door edge. Mark positions for the cylinder and mounting holes.
Drill a Ø32mm cylinder hole and four Ø3mm mounting holes. The template diagram indicates these hole positions and sizes.
Note for drilling: Drill the cylinder hole from both sides of the door to prevent splintering of the door face. The template shows a Ø32mm (1 1/4") cylinder hole and four Ø3mm holes.
2. Prepare Cylinder
Assemble the cylinder to the cylinder trim. Insert this assembly through the cylinder hole in the door.
Secure the backplate to the cylinder using the two connecting screws provided.
Adjust the tail bar so it projects 12mm beyond the inside of the door. The diagram illustrates the cylinder, cylinder trim, backplate, connecting screws, and tail bar.
3. Assemble Lock Body
While holding Lever 'C' in, assemble the lock body to the door. Ensure the tail bar engages with the slot at the back of the lock body.
Secure the lock body to the door using the four long wood screws supplied. The diagram shows the lock body, Lever C, tail bar, and long wood screws.
4. Prepare Door Jamb
Mortice the door jamb to accept the strike. For door gaps greater than 3mm, rebating of Face 'B' is not required.
Mark and drill the strike mounting holes. The diagram shows the strike and the door jamb (Face B).
5. Assemble Strike
Secure the strike to the door jamb using the four short wood screws. The diagram shows the strike being attached to the jamb.
