Important Safety Instructions

Precautions when working with the Jump Starter 1000A:

⚠️ WARNING: Keep the unit clear of fire and water.

⚠️ WARNING: Shock Hazard. Keep away from children. Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the Jump Start Cable Output, the USB Output Ports, or the 12V Jump Start Port. Do not submerge this product in water, expose to rain, snow, condensation, or spray for long periods. Do not open the Jump Starter 1000A. The battery is self-contained and there are no user replaceable parts inside the Jump Starter 1000A. Do not use the Jump Starter 1000A if it is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.

Do not operate the Jump Starter 1000A or accessories with a damaged cord or plug. To reduce the risk of damage to cords pull from the connector rather than the cord when unplugging. Use of an accessory or an attachment not included with or recommended for the Jump Starter 1000A may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.

⚠️ WARNING: Explosion Hazard. Do not use this product where there are flammable fumes or gases, such as an inadequately vented bilge of a boat or near propane tanks. Do not use this product in an enclosure containing automotive-type lead-acid batteries.

⚠️ WARNING: Fire Hazard. Do not crush or puncture.

CAUTION: Operating temperature and environment. Do not expose to temperatures over +113° F (+45° C) or under 14° F (-10° C). Using at high or low temperatures may reduce the internal battery capacity and shorten the battery life. Exposure to fire or temperatures over +265° F (+130° C) may cause explosion. Exercise care when using in wet conditions.

Note: In extreme cold weather conditions, please store indoors for best results.

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Note: If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.

The Jump Starter 1000A is supplied with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. When charging the Jump Starter 1000A, work in a well-ventilated area and do not restrict ventilation in any way. Proper charging practices will increase the life of the batteries. The unit and battery must be disposed of properly when it no longer holds a charge. For information on battery recycling call toll free 800-822-8837.

CAUTION: This device is not intended for use in a commercial repair facility.

Precautions when working with vehicle batteries:

⚠️ WARNING: Explosion and fire hazard

  1. Follow all instructions published by the battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of the equipment in which the battery is installed.
  2. Make sure the area around the battery is well-ventilated.
  3. Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of the engine or batteries.
  4. Be careful not to drop a metal object on the battery or allow a metal tool to simultaneously touch the positive and negative cable ends or battery terminals.
  5. Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working with batteries. Batteries produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or other similar objects to metal, causing a severe burn.
  6. If you need to remove a battery, always remove the negative terminal from the battery first. Make sure all accessories are off to prevent causing a spark.
  7. Someone should be within range of your voice, or close enough to come to your aid when you work near batteries.
  8. Have plenty of fresh water, soap and a supply of baking soda on hand in the area of the batteries in case of contact with battery acid. Baking soda neutralizes lead acid battery electrolyte.

Note: In extreme cold weather conditions, please store indoors for best results.

Note: When charging a device(s), the charge level may be lower than the actual battery charge level because the Jump Starter 1000A cannot accurately measure the charge level during rapid charging. To confirm the actual battery charge level, disconnect the device(s) being charged and press the power button.

The Jump Starter 1000A is designed for gasoline and diesel powered passenger cars and light duty trucks in good working order with batteries that are not damaged but require assistance commonly due to leaving lights on, cold temperature, or sitting unused for limited periods of time.

The Jump Starter 1000A uses a special high current battery to provide up to 1000 peak amps to start your engine. This can be used to jumpstart multiple vehicles on a single charge, or if needed, multiple jumpstart attempts on a single vehicle. However, after 4 repeated jumpstarts in a short period of time, the Jump Starter 1000A will go into recovery mode for 10 minutes to prevent the battery from overheating.

The Jump Starter 1000A is intended to jump start a vehicle with a battery that is not completely discharged. After jumpstarting your vehicle or regularly charging devices with the Jump Starter, the unit should be recharged to full in order to keep the battery in healthy condition.

Jump Starter 1000A Features

The Jump Starter 1000A has several key components:

  • A. LED Display: A screen that shows the battery's charge level and operational status.
  • B. Power/Flashlight Button: Used to turn the unit on/off and control the LED flashlight.
  • C. Jump Start Connector: The port where the red battery clamp connects.
  • D. LED Flashlight: An integrated flashlight for illumination.
  • E. USB-C Fast Charge Input/Output: A port used for recharging the Jump Starter itself or for charging other devices via USB-C.
  • F. (2) USB-A Fast Charge Outputs: Two standard USB-A ports for charging devices.
  • G. 12V Jump Start Connector: The port used to connect the 12V jumper cable for in-car jump starting.
  • H. Battery Clamps: The red (+) and black (-) clamps attached to the jumper cables for connecting to a vehicle's battery terminals.
  • I. USB-C to A Cable: A cable included for charging the unit or devices.
  • J. 12V Jumper Cable: The cable with a 12V plug used for in-car jump starting.

Re-Charging Your Jump Starter 1000A

The Jump Starter 1000A is recharged via its USB-C input/output port using the included cable or any compatible USB-C charging cable. While charging, the battery percentage on the screen will flash. Once fully charged or when the cable is removed, the flashing will stop, and the display will turn off after 15 seconds.

For optimal battery performance, recharge the Jump Starter 1000A fully every 12 months or as needed based on usage.

Charging can be done by connecting the USB-C port to:

  • A laptop or computer's USB-C port.
  • A vehicle's USB-C port (if available).
  • A wall adapter (AC adapter not included).

Jump Starting Your Vehicle - Direct-to-Battery

Follow these steps to jump start your vehicle directly from the battery:

  1. Connect Clamps: Attach the jumper cable clamps to the vehicle's battery terminals. Connect the Red clamp to the Positive (+) terminal first, then the Black clamp to the Negative (-) terminal.
  2. Connect to Jump Starter: Connect the other end of the jumper cable to the Jump Starter 1000A's jump start connector.
  3. Start Vehicle: Wait for the green LED on the jumper cable to illuminate, indicating a successful connection. Then, start your vehicle's engine.
  4. Disconnect Cables: Once the vehicle has started, disconnect the jumper cable from the Jump Starter 1000A first, then disconnect the clamps from the vehicle's battery terminals.

Jump Starting Your Vehicle - In Car

This method uses the vehicle's 12V accessory port.

  1. Prepare Vehicle: Turn off all vehicle accessories. Connect the jumper cable to the Jump Starter 1000A.
  2. Accessory Mode: Depending on your vehicle, push the START button to Accessory mode or turn the ignition switch to the Accessory position.
  3. Connect 12V Plug: Connect the 12V plug end of the jumper cable into the vehicle's 12V accessory port. (Note: The 12V plug is used for in-car jump starting only. For recharging the Jump Starter, see the "Re-Charging Your Jump Starter 1000A" section.)
  4. Check Readiness: Wait for "Output Ready" and 5 solid bars on the Jump Starter's LED screen, then start your vehicle.
  5. Disconnect Cable: Disconnect the Jump Start cable from the 12V accessory port and from the Jump Starter 1000A. Leave the engine running for at least twenty minutes to allow the vehicle's battery to recharge.

Note: In-car battery charging may take up to 15 minutes. If your vehicle does not start with this method, try the direct-to-battery method.

Troubleshooting

  1. After unboxing your Jump Starter: It is recommended to fully charge your Jump Starter before using it for the first time or putting it into long-term storage. Recharge it every 12 months or when the charge gets low after continued use.
  2. Charging your Jump Starter: While you can charge devices using USB-C or USB-A ports, the Jump Starter itself can only be recharged via the USB-C port. The 12V jumpstart port is exclusively for in-car jumpstarting.
  3. Checking readiness for jumpstarting:
    • Direct-to-Battery Jumpstarting: Look for a green LED light on the side of your jumper cables. A solid green light indicates readiness. Refer to the Tri-Color Status LED Table for full details.
    • In Car Jumpstarting: The Jump Starter's LED screen will display a flashing bar graph during the process. When complete and ready, it will show a solid 5-bar graph and the words "Output Ready".
  4. LED light on jumper cables does not turn on: If the jumper cable LED light is not illuminating after connecting to the Jump Starter and car battery, unplug the cables for 30 seconds. Check the Jump Starter's current battery charge before reconnecting.
