Quick Start Guide

FULLY CHARGE FIRST! For optimal performance, charge your Cobra Jump Starter prior to first use and every 12 months.

Jump Starter 1000A Features

The Cobra Jump Starter 1000A includes the following components:

How to Jump Start Your Vehicle

Direct-to-Battery Jumpstarting

  1. Connect Clamps: Connect the jumper cable clamps to the vehicle's battery terminals. First, connect the Red clamp to the Positive (+) terminal, then connect the Black clamp to the Negative (-) terminal.
  2. Connect to Jump Starter: Connect the other end of the jumper cables to the Jump Starter 1000A's Jump Start Connector (C).
  3. Start Vehicle: Wait for the green LED light on the jump start cable to illuminate, indicating a successful connection. Then, start your vehicle.
  4. Disconnect Cables: Once the vehicle is running, disconnect the jumper cable from the Jump Starter 1000A, and then disconnect the clamps from the vehicle's battery terminals.

In-Car Jumpstarting

  1. Prepare Vehicle: Turn off all vehicle accessories. Connect the jumper cable to the Jump Starter 1000A.
  2. Accessory Mode: Depending on your vehicle, push the START button to Accessory mode or turn the ignition switch to the Accessory (ACC) position.
  3. Connect to 12V Port: Connect the 12V plug end of the jumper cable into the vehicle's 12V accessory port (cigarette lighter socket). Note: The 12V plug is used for in-car jump starting only.
  4. Check Status: Wait for "Output Ready" and 5 solid charging bars to appear on the Jump Starter's LED screen. Then, start your vehicle.
  5. Disconnect and Recharge: Disconnect the Jump Start cable from the 12V accessory port and from the Jump Starter 1000A. Leave the engine running for at least twenty minutes to allow the vehicle's battery to recharge. Note: In-car charging may take up to 15 minutes. If the vehicle does not start, try the direct-to-battery method.

Charging Your Devices

To charge a 5V USB device, connect the device's cable to either the Jump Starter 1000A's USB-A or USB-C Outputs. Once connected, press the power button to wake the Jump Starter from standby mode; it will begin charging automatically.

The LED display will show the current battery percentage while at least one device is connected and charging. The display turns off 15 seconds after all devices are disconnected or charged.

USB-A Charging: Use a USB-A to your device's charging cable.

USB-C Charging: Use a USB-C to your device's charging cable.

LED Flashlight Operation

Re-Charging Your Jump Starter 1000A

The Jump Starter 1000A is recharged via its USB-C input/output port using a compatible USB-C charging cable.

When charging, the battery percentage will flash on the screen. At full charge or when the cable is removed, the percentage will stop flashing, and the display will turn off after 15 seconds.

For best battery performance, recharge the Jump Starter 1000A fully every 12 months or as needed based on usage.

In-Car Jump Starting FAQ

How do I know if my battery is charging? When connected, the LCD screen will show a flashing 5-bar graph and the word 'Output'. As the battery charges, the bars turn solid. A 'Ready' message indicates the vehicle is ready to start.

How long will it take to charge? In-car jump starting typically takes up to 15 minutes. If your vehicle doesn't start, try the direct-to-battery method.

What if I don't see the charging bars? If the Jump Starter has insufficient charge, the battery percentage will flash, and a caution image may appear. Use the direct-to-battery method in this case.
