LED Status

The Smart Bridge MZ1 features several LED indicators to show device status:

Factory Reset

To perform a factory reset, long press the reset button using a pin through the pinhole until all 3 LEDs blink rapidly.

Setup with 3R-Installer

This section details the setup process using the 3R-Installer App.

  1. Download and install the 3R-Installer App (iOS/Android) on your phone.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and ensure it has a stable internet connection via an IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  3. Power on the Matter Bridge using the provided power cable and adapter. The Wi-Fi LED indicator will blink rapidly, indicating readiness for Wi-Fi setup.
  4. Open the 3R-Installer App and tap the '+' icon in the upper right corner.
  5. Scan the Matter QR Code and follow the on-screen instructions to configure the Wi-Fi network.
  6. Once network configuration is complete, tap the bridge icon to access the device page. Tap 'Check Updates' for firmware updates.
  7. Tap 'Bridge Zigbee Devices' and put your Zigbee devices into pairing mode. Pair THIRDREALITY Zigbee end devices to this bridge. After device configuration, you can find the Zigbee devices on the Smart Bridge device page. Tap the device icon to enter its page and check for firmware OTA updates.
  8. Tap 'Link With Matter Enabled Services'. Copy the Manual Setup Code or scan the QR Code within 3 minutes to add the bridge to other Matter-supported ecosystems through multi-admin.
  9. Tap 'Bridge ZIGBEE Devices' to pair more THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices.
  10. Tap 'Matter Reset' to remove the bridge from your Wi-Fi router. Connected Zigbee devices will remain connected. This code can be used to set up Wi-Fi for the bridge via the 3R-Installer App on a phone connected to another Wi-Fi router.

It is highly recommended to download and install the 3R-Installer app first. Follow the instructions to set up the bridge in the app, obtain the setup code, and add it to other Matter-supported ecosystems via multi-admin.

Setup with Apple Home

Compatibility: iOS system version 16.6 or later. Matter-supported Controller: HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV.

Note: It is highly recommended to download and install the 3R-Installer app first. Follow the instructions below to set up the bridge in the 3R-Installer app, then get the setup code and add the bridge to your Apple Home through multi-admin. You can also scan the QR code to add the bridge to your Apple Home directly.

  1. Set up the Bridge with the 3R-Installer App and copy the Matter bridge's setup code (Code effective duration: 3 minutes).
  2. Ensure your Apple Home Controller is on the same Wi-Fi network. Launch the Home App, tap '+', then 'Add or Scan Accessory'. Tap 'More Options', select the Smart Bridge MZ1, and tap 'Add device'. Paste the setup code copied from the 3R-Installer App to continue. Set the location and name for the bridge; it will be added to 'My Home'.
  3. Pre-connected accessories attached to the Bridge via 3R-Installer will update automatically. To add more THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices, press the reset button through the pinhole with a pin to enable Zigbee pairing. The Zigbee indicator on the Matter bridge will blink blue. Put THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices into pairing mode to add them.
  4. Set locations and names for accessories, then create automations.
  5. To connect the device to another Matter-certified ecosystem app, long-press any attached accessory, tap 'Accessory Settings', then 'Bridge' to enter the Smart Bridge MZ1 device page. Tap 'Turn On Pairing Mode' to generate and copy a new setup code. Launch the app of another Matter-certified ecosystem, follow its setup instructions, paste the setup code, and complete the setup.

Setup with Google Home

Compatibility: Google Home App version: Android: 3.3.1.4 or later; iOS: 3.3.104 or later.

Note: It is highly recommended to download and install the 3R-Installer app first. Follow the instructions below to set up the bridge in the 3R-Installer app, then get the setup code and add the bridge to your Google Home through multi-admin. You can also scan the QR code to add the bridge to your Google Home directly.

  1. Set up the Bridge with the 3R-Installer App and copy the Matter bridge's setup code (Code effective duration: 3 minutes).
  2. Ensure your Google Home speaker is on the same Wi-Fi network. Launch the Google Home App, tap '+', then 'New device'. Choose a home and tap 'Next'. Select the Matter bridge, tap 'Next', then 'Continue without scanning'. Paste the setup code to continue. Create a name for the bridge; it will be added.
  3. Pre-connected devices attached to the Matter Bridge will update automatically. To add more THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices, press the reset button through the pinhole with a pin to enable Zigbee pairing. The Zigbee indicator on the Matter bridge will blink blue. Put THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices into pairing mode to add them.
  4. Create names and add devices to Google Home, then create automations for them.

Setup with Alexa

Alexa App version: Android: 2.2.521848.0 or later for build version, and 2023.15 or later for APP version. iOS: 2.2.548660 or later for build version, and 2023.15 or later for APP version.

Note: It is highly recommended to download and install the 3R-Installer app first. Follow the instructions below to set up the bridge in the 3R-Installer app, then get the setup code and add the bridge to your Alexa through multi-admin. You can also scan the QR code to add the bridge to your Alexa directly.

  1. Set up the Bridge with the 3R-Installer App and copy the Matter bridge's setup code (Code effective duration: 3 minutes).
  2. Ensure your Alexa speaker is on the same Wi-Fi network. Launch the Amazon Alexa App, tap '+' in the upper right on the device page to 'Add Device'. Scroll down the list, tap 'Other', choose 'Matter', and select 'Try numeric code instead' to enter the code. Follow the instructions to add the bridge and pre-connected devices.
  3. Create routines with the devices.
  4. To connect the device to another Matter-certified ecosystem app, go to the app of the first ecosystem. Navigate to 'Device Settings', tap 'Other assistants and apps', then 'Add another', and copy the setup code. Launch the app of another Matter-certified ecosystem, follow its setup instructions, paste the setup code, and complete the setup.

Setup with SmartThings

Compatibility: SmartThings App version 1.8.01.22 or higher. iOS SmartThings App version 1.7.02.16. Matter-supported Controller: SmartThings Hub V2 & V3, Aeotec Smart Home Hub.

  1. Launch your SmartThings App. Tap '+' to 'Add device', then choose 'Matter'.
  2. Scan the QR code on your device.
  3. Select a hub to connect your device. (On iOS, you need to 'Add to iCloud Account' first). Create an Accessory Name, then tap 'Continue'.
  4. Set a name to add the device.
  5. Press the reset button through the pinhole with a pin to enable Zigbee pairing. The Zigbee indicator on the Matter bridge will blink blue. Put THIRDREALITY Zigbee devices into pairing mode to add them.
  6. Create routines with the Zigbee devices added through the Matter bridge.
  7. To connect the device to another Matter-certified ecosystem app, go to the app of the first ecosystem. Navigate to 'Device Settings', tap 'Share with other services', then 'Share device'. A QR code and a numeric code will be displayed. Launch the app of another Matter-certified ecosystem, follow its setup instructions, enter the setup code, and complete the setup.
