Thank you for purchasing the Solar Backup Camera and Display. Our all-inclusive kit is hassle-free and does not require the need to modify your car or hire a professional installer. The built-in solar panel will provide a trickle charge to the internal battery of the camera, keeping your backup camera charged and ready for use!

Getting Started

The Solar Backup Camera and Display should be paired from the factory. If for some reason these devices are not paired or become unpaired, please see pairing instructions.

This Solar Backup Camera contains an internal rechargeable, non-replaceable lithium-ion battery.

Press the power button to turn on the device; the camera will automatically sync with the display unit.

Before first use, make sure to fully charge the backup camera battery via the USB-C port inside the charging port.

If the camera is not functioning properly, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds to restore factory settings, located inside the charging port.

The solar panel will provide a trickle charge for the internal battery, depending on the weather conditions.

NOTE: Because the camera will be exposed to the natural elements, it may be necessary from time to time to gently wipe down the camera lens with a mild soap or detergent.

CAUTION:

Before using this product, please read this entire user manual including all cautions and warnings. Keep this user manual for future reference. Before using this product, check with all local, state and federal regulations for mounting the Solar Backup Camera onto a vehicle and/or affixing the display unit. Many jurisdictions do not permit the license plates and/or the dashboard/windshield to be obscured.

This product is not intended to be used during normal driving but only as an aid while backing up a car at speeds under 5 MPH. This product is not a substitute for safe driving. Always check your surroundings, use your mirrors and abide by all local, state and federal motor vehicle laws while operating a motor vehicle.

Installation

Display:

  • Connect the display to the display mount.
  • Clamp the display mount in the desired location and close the locking lever.
  • Attach the antenna to the display and hand tighten it down.

Solar Backup Camera:

  • Connect the Solar Backup Camera to the underside of your license plate and align the bracket with the license plate screw holes.
  • Install the license plate screws through the license plate, through the Solar Backup Camera mounting bracket, and into the vehicle's license plate screw holes.
  • Once the product is installed and the angle adjusted, tighten the Allen screws with the included Allen wrench.

Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for compatibility with this product.

NOTE: To protect car paint, do not allow the Solar Backup Camera or mounting bracket to touch the surface of your car.

Operation

Pairing:

  • Make sure both the Solar Camera and Display are powered on.
  • Hold the "M" button on the display for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  • Press the +/- button to select the name of the desired camera.
  • Press the "M" button to confirm and end the pairing mode.

NOTE: If no name is displayed after pairing mode is entered, press the "Flip" button to begin pairing search again.

Display:

  • Connect the car charger to the display and to a 12V car auxiliary power outlet; depress the power switch.
  • Press the power button to turn on the display and use the other controls as shown in the diagram.

NOTE: Do not leave the car charger connected to the vehicle when the engine is turned off, as this could lead to the draining of the car's battery. The car charger includes an additional USB-A charging port for convenience.

Guideline Adjustment:

Press the "Menu" key for 1 second; the display will enter the guideline adjustment mode.

Vertical Adjustment:

Press the "Menu" button again, and you will see a 'V' icon appear, indicating vertical adjustment mode. Press the (+ or -) buttons to adjust the guidelines up or down.

Width Adjustment:

Press the "Menu" key again, and you will see a 'W' icon appear, indicating width adjustment mode. Press the (+ or -) buttons to increase or decrease the width of the guidelines.

  • This product is to only be used as a parking aid in addition to using your mirrors and being aware of your surroundings while the vehicle is moving less than 5 MPH.
  • Do not charge the product immediately after use or while it is still hot.
  • Store and charge the product away from corrosive or flammable materials.
  • Do not cover the product with paper or other materials when in use or while charging.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area when charging.
  • Stop using or charging if any abnormality occurs.
  • Do not use product nearby water such as swimming pools, bathtubs, or sinks.
  • Do not expose this product to extreme environments where the temperature and humidity is high. Do not expose product to heat sources, the sun, or fire.
  • Do not burn or incinerate this product because it may explode and emit toxic fumes and chemicals.
  • Never insert objects other than the intended cable connectors into the product.
  • Do not disassemble. There are no serviceable parts inside.
  • Do not operate if damaged or modified. Stop using the product if it has any evidence of bulging or swelling. Damaged batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
  • This product contains a non-replaceable rechargeable lithium-ion battery. When discarding, follow your local/state guidelines.
  • The internal lithium-ion battery capacity will degrade over time.
  • Do not open product; no user serviceable parts inside.
  • Please keep this product away from children.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the unit.
  • Do not leave this product outside even when installed on a vehicle, if the temperature exceeds 65°C.

One Year Warranty

Xtreme, official licensee of Armor All, warrants its products for ONE YEAR against defects in manufacturing under regular consumer use with original receipt of retail purchase.

We believe in our products and want to provide you with a replacement, if needed, but we have to know about the problem while the product is still under warranty. If you discover a defect covered by this warranty, please contact us about receiving a replacement. In order to use the products warranty, the customer must provide proof of the retailer's receipt.

*Any customers outside of the U.S. will be responsible for shipping and handling charges if a replacement is required that is not due to a manufacturing defect. If there is not a manufacturing defect, shipping and handling will be applied.

Xtreme's warranty is limited to our products only. Our warranty does not cover the replacement or repair cost of any third-party accessory, electronic device, or personal property.
