3. Instructions

The A35 connects to a POS or an ECR via a communication cable for entering passwords, tapping contactless cards, swiping magstripe cards, inserting smart cards, or reading 1D/2D codes during a transaction process. To use it correctly, refer to the following instructions:

  1. Power Connections

Power can be supplied to the A35 by connecting the AC power adapter to the communication cable, as in the case of RS232 or USB configurations, or via a powered USB cable (12V Powered USB) where the connected POS terminal provides the power.

  2. Reset

Press and hold the 'X' and 'O' buttons for 5-8 seconds; the operation system will reboot.

  3. Communication cable
    1. Remove the back cover (At the bottom of the terminal).
    2. Connect the communication cable head to the Type-C interface.
  4. SAM Cards
    1. Remove the back cover (At the bottom of the terminal).
    2. Insert the SAM cards into the corresponding card slot.
  5. SD Card
    1. Remove the back cover (At the bottom of the terminal).
    2. Insert the SD card into the corresponding card slot.
  6. Magnetic stripe card reader

To use the magnetic stripe card reader, position the magnetic stripe side of the magnetic card towards the device interior. Swipe the card with a steady speed through the magnetic reader slot. (Supports bi-directional swiping).

  7. IC card reader

To use the IC card reader, place the IC card chip side upward and push it into the IC card slot until it stops.

  8. Contactless card reader

To use the contactless card reader, tap the contactless card on the Top LCD screen area of the device, indicated by the universal contactless icon on the screen, when prompted.

  9. 1D/2D code reader

To use the 1D/2D code reader, position the 1D/2D code towards the top center area of the LCD.

  10. Electronic signature

The A35 supports electronic signatures. Please use your finger to sign; do not use metal or sharp objects to operate the touch screen to avoid damage.

  11. Terminal Anti-theft

The A35 provides a Kensington security hole on the rear side of the terminal. End users can lock the terminal to a countertop with a Kensington lock if necessary.

  12. Audio Jack

If required, a visually impaired person can connect headphones to the terminal for audio prompting if the terminal application supports this feature using the 3.5mm output audio jack.

4. Installation and Usage Tips

  1. Avoid placing the terminal in direct sunlight, high temperature, moist, or dusty environments.
  2. Do not allow non-professionals to repair the terminal.
  3. Before inserting a card, check the inside and around the IC card slot. Report any suspicious objects to the relevant administrator.

5. Password Entering Tips

It is highly recommended to enter passwords using the following methods:

  1. Set up anti-peep shields. Enter the password with a shield provided by the cashier's desk structure.
  2. Position the POS terminal at an appropriate angle to make it difficult for others to see the password. For example, the POS can be installed on a movable bracket.
  3. When entering the password, avoid areas with surrounding video surveillance.
  4. Post instructions reminding customers to shield their entry with their body or palm when entering their password.
  5. Merchants can also implement other methods to protect customer password input.
