Safety Notes

This unit includes a safety feature that prevents in-dash video functions from operating when the vehicle is not in Park and the parking brake is not engaged. Viewing video while driving is illegal in most jurisdictions and can lead to driver distraction, resulting in serious injury or death.

This SAFETY NOTICE serves as a reminder to drive responsibly and safely when using your mobile phone or compatible apps. It is highly recommended that your Jensen unit be installed by a professional installer or authorized dealer. This product is designed for vehicles with a 12VDC negative ground only.

To Prevent Damage or Injury:

Warning Statement

Driver Distraction Hazard: This unit is designed to prevent driver distraction. In-dash video functions operate only when the vehicle is in Park and the parking brake is engaged. It is illegal in most jurisdictions to view video while driving. Failure to adhere to these instructions could lead to driver distraction, causing serious injury or death to occupants or others, and/or property damage.

Installation Location: Some states prohibit monitors/media players visible from the driver's seat. If such a law applies, install the unit so the screen is not visible from the driver's seat, or position it facing the front passenger seat only. Failure to comply may lead to driver distraction and potential injury or death.

Parking Brake Lock-Out Feature: The unit operates only when the vehicle is in "Park" and the parking brake is fully engaged. The parking brake detect wire must be connected to the parking brake mechanism to enable this feature. DO NOT simply ground the wire to the vehicle chassis. Improper installation can lead to driver distraction and potential injury or death.

Brake Lock-Out Tampering: Do not attempt to bypass or neutralize the parking brake lock-out feature by partially engaging the brake or using unauthorized devices. Doing so can lead to driver distraction and potential injury or death.

Volume Control: Keep the unit's volume low enough to hear essential traffic sounds, such as emergency vehicles. Failure to do so can lead to driver distraction and potential injury or death.

FCC Compliance

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) it may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
